I purchased this because I have narrow heels. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it slides up some when I put on my socks. I have a very wide forefoot and narrow heels. Heel huggers makes my shoes more comfortable.
Description of Brown Medical Heel Hugger with Gel, Medium
The Heel Hugger is a patented product designed to treat and prevent heel pain and inflammatory problems of the heel. Composed of neoprene, the Heel Hugger is a half-stocking with two gel pads located on each side of the heel bone. It provides compression to control edema and absorbs shock from heel strike. The gel pads are designed to limit right or left movement of the heel and provide stability to the patient. As an added therapeutic benefit, the Heel Hugger can be placed in the freezer for cooling that will help with heel inflammation. This is beneficial with heel injuries or following heel surgery, and frequently shortens the time from post-operative shoes to normal shoes. The Heel Hugger is an effective treatment for plantar fasciitis & calcaneal spurs, heel contusions, irritation & blisters, Achilles tendonitis, subtalar arthritis and narrow heels.
