Customer Review: Plus and minus issues with this...

While I like some things about this product there are some negatives to consider. First, there is no sunscreen which is a big issue for me. I very much prefer lip balms with a sunscreen but for someone sensitive to that ingredient not having one would be a huge plus. Second, I like the feel of the minty-ness. It isn't something that bothers my skin but the peppermint in it could be an irritant to some people. Perhaps, it doesnt bother me because I don't use this exclusively, I'm not sure, but I can see this being an issue for some people with sensitive skin.
The texture is a mixed-bag for me. While it feels nice once it's on, I find it a bit *pulling* to get it on. I think that it melts a bit at body temp so once its on, it feels good. I find a bit *stiff* in the tube.
I like the tube form as lip balms in a tin are a bit messy to get on and this is easy to carry with you. I haven't had any issues with the cap coming off in pocket or purse. It also doesn't look *feminine* in the tube or have a sweet flowery scent so my son will use it.

I was introduced to this stuff while shopping at Books-A-Million. They had a large display of organic items on sale, and I saw this lip balm and decided to buy it.
That was four years ago, and I still hoard this product like crazy!! I have one tube in my car, another in my room, another at work, etc.
Anyway, a little about the product. This product is natural which means there are no chemicals at all. Safe for children, pets, and to eat. I don't recommend that you give this to pets, or eat it.
The lip balm has a yummy minty smell and taste. It goes on your lips smoothly and leaves a sharp tingle. It tastes great if you accidently lick it off, or if someone kiss your lips.
Also, I love this company. Burts Bees is a wonderful charity company. I love how they only make natural, organic beauty products, and there is no animal testing what so ever!!
Go ahead and try some, no matter what other lipstick, chapstick you use, you won't regret it!

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
Peppermint, .15oz
I love the flavor of this lip balm (very intense peppermint tingle), but it does not hydrate my dry lips. It's very hard, which makes it long lasting & smash resistant, but not as moisturizing as softer lip balms. I recommend getting Dr. Bronner's Peppermint, Lip Balm Organic-Peppermint 0.15 Ounces, instead of this. Bronner's has organic ingredients, more hydration, and is about the same price as Burt's Bees. The peppermint flavor is milder, but if you have dry lips Bronner's is a more effective balm.
Ingredients: Beeswax, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Mentha piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Lanolin, Tocopherol, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Glycine soja (soybean oil), Canola Oil

This is, bar-none, the best lip balm I have ever used (and I know my lip balms - I've tested them all).
For old-school Chapstik aficionados, the powerfully minty kick of this stuff might come on a bit strong. But it does become truly addictive: I find myself anticipating its peppery tingle before I even have the cap off.
Dependency issues aside, it does what it promises to do: Burt's blend of natural oils and beeswax honestly does make your lips softer and smoother, and its tingly relief during Michigan's dry-ice-y winters is second to none.
Like many of my fellow BB's addicts, I have one of these squirreled away in almost every room of the house, plus one in my purse, plus one in my extra purse. And one in my emergency extra purse. Also I think I have one in the glove compartment, and also in the stroller bag...And...
