Customer Reviews of Burts Beeswax Lip Balm - 0.15 ozCustomer Review: mint is irritating Summary: 1 Stars
I first tried the beeswax lip balm after my lips got really dry and chapped from being out in the sun. I thought the beeswax would soothe and it might have, but I didn't bother to notice because my lips were burning from the minty-ness! I looked at the ingredients and noticed it contained peppermint oil! I did not expect that from the label and even question why they would do such a thing. I didn't think you were supposed to use a menthol oil on such a sensitive skin area such as lips! Overall, I was dissatisfied. The beeswax isn't very smooth or creamy either. I appreciate the natural products, but not this time.
Customer Review: Most effective lip balm ever Summary: 5 Stars
I'd been hearing and reading rave reviews about this lip balm but usually I take these things with a grain of salt. On impulse I bought one and am I glad I did! It was midwinter and my lips were feeling tight and uncomfortable but the second I applied it, it brought instant relief.
Unlike other lip balms I've tried, one application lasts for several hours so there's no need to keep reapplying. It has a pleasant peppermint smell but it's not overpowering either. It freshens your breath too so that's a double bonus.
It may be a little more expensive than other products but it's more than worth it.
Customer Review: Instant Relief & Soothing Comfort for Lips Summary: 5 Stars
I've always fought with dry, chapped lips, so I'm never far from a lip balm. I've tried all the usual brands on the market and they're all fine, but after reading about Burt's Bees I decided to order a couple tubes to try out. The Burt's Bees lip balm is now the one I go searching for in my purse when I need lip relief. Its soothing peppermint "tingle" and other ingredients are the perfect salve for dry, chapped lips. By the way, while the peppermint tingle and coolness is terrific, the balm is not like some of those sugary/sweet balms that you inadvertantly lick off due to them tasting like candy.
Customer Review: Keeps your lips smooth and feeling tingly! Summary: 5 Stars
Okay so, when everyone kept raving about Burt's I was just fine using my old school Carmex. But, I decided to make the switch (partly out of curiosity to see what all the hype was about) and I was very impressed! The smell, first off, is wonderful! Really minty and you just want to keep putting it on. &, the peppermint oil makes your lips feel cool and tingly. I usually like putting on a lot (because I like the smell and the tingle) and it doesn't feel too thick, or dry up. So, in my book, this is a pretty good product, and not too expensive for the results it reaps.
Customer Review: I love Burt's Bee's products...but not this one. Summary: 3 Stars
The Burt's Bees Lip Balm Beeswax Tube is a product I fully expected to love, just like the plethora of other Burt's Bee's products I've tried...but I didn't. First the scent: like wax. I know it's a natural product, but perhaps in this case nature and I don't agree? Second, the balm doesn't go on smoothly. It doesn't seem to matter if I have it warmed up or not, I get clumps instead of a coating.
On the positive side it is a natural product. Since there are other natural products...even by Burt's out there...I will be using those instead.
