I've owned this product for almost a year now. It works just the way it should, straightening the hair effecively in a small amount of time. I've even dropped this thing on the hard tile floor of my bathroom 2 months after I bought it, which chipped the top piece of plastic on it. It stopped working because of this and it wouldn't turn on so I assumed I had broken it permanently. About a week later I turned it on just to see if I could get it working again, and low and behold, it turned on and works just as perfectly as it did the first day I used it. So in sum, it's effective, easy to use, great on the hair, and it's apparently quite durable even after a HARD fall. 5 star, recommended!Customer Review: Chi Flat Iron dosn't hold up

This iron works well on my thick curly hair, but what good is it if it doesn't hold up. Several months after I purchased this iron, it wouldn't get hot, only warm. Farouk replaced the iron. Now, ten months later, the ceramic plates, (both plates, on both sides) are cracked and oozing out whatever it is inside the plates. What is this stuff? Farouk says the warranty on a replacement iron is 90 days. They offered to fix it if I send it back with $35, but it will take up to five weeks. That's an unacceptable amount of time. It's summertime, what would I do without an iron for five weeks. I have to buy a new one anyway, may as well look for on that will last at least a year!!!Customer Review: love it!

I bought this one for a friend who tried mine and wanted one...this is the second friend I have bought one for. I have had mine for over a year now and still use it frequently. I loved it when I first got it and I still love it now! The only thing that would make me love it even more is if it had an auto-shut-off. I have two small children and sometimes I have to attend to small "emergencies" that always seem to occur when I am trying to groom myself or find some alone time in the bathroom...go figure! (Those little rascals!) It would be nice to not have to worry about the house burning down if I accidentally left it unattended. I've been using the CHI for over a year now, and I love it. Since I was a teenager, I've had wild unruly hair. I could never manage it until I bought the CHI. I'm obviously not skilled when it comes to haircare, but the CHI is easy and fast to use. For my VERY thick and long hair, it takes about 15-20 minutes. My hair remains perfectly straight and tame until I wash it again (even though I live in Houston, which is very humid.) I do not use hairspray, gel, or any other hair products now. I just wash and condition my hair and then use the CHI. Everything is so much easier with the CHI. I highly recommend it for unruly, frizzy, or curly hair.Customer Review: Horrible Product. I went to a beauty store and asked about a good hair straightener. The man suggested the Chi Turbo. I found this on amazon so I decided to purchase it. The first few days it worked well, after that it damaged my hair! I used thermo hair shield spray and everything. It broke the strands of my hair and now my hair is different lengths. My stylist said that the product ruined my hair. After using it for awhile the heat doesn't straighten out the waves and I eventually threw it away. The same thing happened to my friend when she bought one!
Don't waste your money on this product just because its a Chi. I rather get a good one from Sephora.
