Especially if you're shaving with a double-edged razor, the kind of shaving cream you use matters and matters greatly. This is a lesson I've learned with much pain and many nicks and cuts. Simply put, this is the best shaving cream I've found yet, and it might be the last one I ever try. The menthol provides this wonderful cooling sensation while the consistency of the cream protects you from cuts and scraping too close to your face. It's just wonderful. And this is coming from a guy who has a five o'clock shadow by noontime and has had chronic problems with razor bumps and irritation since he started shaving. Now, with a good razor and this shaving cream, my problems are all but gone.Customer Review: Great stuff

I love this shaving cream. The smell is pleasant and subtle, and it lathers up easily with a good shaving brush. The lather is about the finest I've used in my time as a wet shaver. I bought a 1.75oz tube of it at Bath & Body Works at a local mall for $5. Used properly even a small tube will last for a good long while. I've been shaving with the one I have for upwards of two months.
A little history for you fine folks- C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream is just a re-brand of Proraso, and Italian shaving cream. They're identical in smell, lather, performance and chemical composition.

This is a great shaving cream - for a bargain! I previously used Cremo Cream for shaving (with a cartridge razor) and was looking for something that provided as close of a shave without leaving a slick, oily residue after rinsing. This product (which is made by Proraso) provides a great shave and rinses cleanly. Moreover, the eucalyptus and menthol provide a great scent and cooling effect that energizes your skin. Proraso has been a classic for years with good reason. Haven't yet tried this with a brush, but will soon do so.Customer Review: Good Stuff

whips up a great lather and just makes shaving with a old style safety razor a great experience. It brings me back to the old days when there was not disposable razors. I went to Bath & Body Works and purchased the large tube 5.2 OZ. for $10.00. This is a great deal that you must try. Think about it 1.7 OZ for $5.00.
It would cost you $15.29 to get the 5.2 OZ tube. Buy the 5.2 OZ tube and save $5.29. Good stuff

I've tried, others...but nothing for me comes close. This has the slickness, moisturizing, and cushioning properties every body looks for in a shave cream. (for those of us who don't try and spend under 1 minute to shave) I buy mine also from Bath and Body Works for $10. Pick it up if you haven't, use hot water and a badger shave brush and you're set to go.
