Customer Reviews of Casabella Compact Carpet Sweeper, Orange 1ea

Customer Review: Works well, young children can use it too.
Summary: 5 Stars

The product I received WAS different than pictured. The colors were different--dark blue and gray instead of light blue/white/yellow as pictured. I actually prefer the item I received to the picture, so no complaints for that. The colors were the only difference. And the word "Casabella" was still written on the sweeper in the same font, in the same place. Very clean, modern design.

It was easily put together despite the confusing instructions.

I searched the product descriptions and reviews for this and other similar carpet sweepers looking for one that a small child could use as well. This sweeper can be used easily by my 2 year old. There are 3 metal poles that screw together to form the handle. If you leave one out, it becomes the perfect height for a small child.

I've been impressed with its ability to pick up dirt as well. No, it probably won't replace a vacuum (difficult to get the edges next to a wall, as I'm sure is common with all carpet sweepers)--but it does pick up dirt very well.

I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend it to a friend.

Customer Review: 5 stars if it would have been called "Compact CARPET Sweeper" only!
Summary: 4 Stars

I had owned the "As seen on TV Swivel sweeper" for a year & a half before the battery died out. I was pretty happy with it's performance for as long as it was alive & was going to buy another one before it struck me not to invest in something knowingly that it'll die again soon. This compelled me to search for something less technical & last for life. Then, I came across this good looking manual sweeper & decided to give it a shot!

I bought this product 4 months ago,for abt 22 bucks + $7(S&H), primarily for cleaning my wood floors but unfortunately it didn't work very well. It doesn't pick up food particles off the floor but does sweep hair away wich is why I am giving it 4 stars! Other than that it works EXCELLENT on low pile carpets esp, rugs....brightens them up!! So 5 stars for that! Although, I would strongly suggest the manufacturers to delete "Floor" from it's title so that people can buy it for what they really want.

Customer Review: A solution to graduate apartment living...
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a new graduate student just moved out of a a homey and well stocked shared apartment to graduate housing where some designing genius put pale cream carpeting in an exceptionally storage-free room. Honestly, what were they thinking?!? I can't afford or store (and really don't need) a big heavy duty vacuum cleaner, so I got his carpet sweeper since it got good reviews and was really reasonably priced. It's a fantastic sweeper and works much better than the DustBuster stick vacuum my roommate brought. (On a side note, I'd avoid stick vauums in general...) I works silently, is really easy to empty, and the bristle comb is a great addition. It's such an obvious idea you wonder why they aren't standard on all sweepers and vacuums. Obviously, this is never going to do the job of a real vacuum, but for small areas and messes it picks up great and takes up almost no space in the closet.

Customer Review: THE BEST
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best sweeper! My Bissell is BAD! (...). it like more for less. It does not do as well as my Hoover Empower and ORECK [my two best vacuum cleaners], but for every day cleaning, it the best.

MY STORY WITH SWEEPERS

I first got a Bissell sweeper when I was about 5, for my birthday. I loved it so much. But about 3 year later, it can not pick up a thing. So don't get a bissell. So a about 3 months ago, [I am writing this on March 14, 2006] I got the Casabella. I was amazed by how much dust it pick up. In the front room it did better than my Empower vacuum. To see the vacuum click http://www.hoover.com/db/U5269900.asp. But every other room the vacuums do better.

SO...

I world buy it if I was you. Use it for small cleaning jobs OR mess that you don't need a vacuum. So, buy it, (...)it does it like a stick vac.

Customer Review: Best sweeper I've ever used
Summary: 5 Stars

Our household has a dog and two messy boys. We have hardwood floors throughout the house but most rooms have a central rug or two. We have a pretty decent Eureka upright that we use for deep cleaning weekly. On a daily basis, we rely on a carpet sweeper.

I bought the Casabella sweeper to replace a Bissell model that I'd been struggling with for years. The Bissell swept things up fairly well but it was difficult to clean out at the end of each use and the handle kept falling apart.

The Casabella does a better job of sweeping things up, is very easy to dump out at the end of each use, and (although lighter in weight than the Bissell) is more sturdily constructed. It also cost about half what the other model cost. We've used it daily for about six months now with no problem at all. I'm going to buy another one for upstairs use!
