When I was in second grade, my teacher had us do a science project with dish detergents. She brought all of her leftover dinner plates (lasagna) and we put them in large ziplock bags. We put a different detergent in each bag and almost instantly the one with dawn started showing pieces of food just floating off the plate. The other ones needed our help shaking the bag or scrubbing with a sponge but the dawn one was the only one that we didn't have to use a sponge on to make the plate look clean. For some reason that has always stuck in my head and to this day I use Dawn almost exclusively. So when I first saw these a few years ago I was skeptical until I saw 'Dawn' written on the front. And sure enough, they live up to my standard for Dawn detergent.
I haven't tried this scent yet, but I just placed my order for it.
I have never had pac not dissolve completely so I was a little confused by the person who's directions included removing the empty pack. I don't know the temperature my water heater is set on but I know it's pretty hot - hot enough to always dissolve the pack.
Also, I always use 2 pacs/load. I have two compartments on my dishwasher - main and prewash - and I put a pack in each and then run the dishwasher. I have tried to only use one but it didn't seem like my tervis tumblers or silverware got cleaned all the way. But with two packs, the dishes are almost always completely clean. I do wipe most of my dishes down with a sponge before putting them in the dishwasher, though.
Based on the amazon.com bulk pricing, this scent is more expensive. It breaks down to 22.5 cents per Cinnamon Apple scent and only 14.8 cents per package of the other scents. That does make this one 50% more expensive and I'm not sure why. I've never seen this scent in the store so I don't know if that means it's not popular or if that means that it is so popular they can't keep it on the shelf. At any rate, 5 packs for a little over $20 is fine with me, especially when it lands right at my doorstep and saves me a trip to the store.

I purchased these some time ago when I read that the citrus scented dishwasher detergents are more corrosive due to the acid in the citrus. The scent in these is a nice change and I've had excellent results after using them for 6+ months. When I ran out, I bought another name brand product that was similar and I have not been happy with them. They do not clean as well so I end up rewashing or hand washing many things which, as we all can appreciate, defeats the purpose of a dishwasher. I am about to reorder these.
I have never had to remove any remaining "pouch" after the dish washing cycle. It's stated to be "water-soluble" and simply dissolves with the rest of the detergent. You do need to reseal the storage pack they come in to prevent them from drying out over time.
To clarify one point about the popularity of these: there are only 20 packets in this scent compared to 28 in the lemon/citrus or regular scents. Not considering discounts or special offers, this calculates out to about a 2 cent greater per use cost and may explain the increased demand for the others. I've not seen this scent in my local stores either, so am not sure of the intensity of their marketing. I purchased them because I was concerned about the etching of my glasses, dishes, and flatware caused by long term use of the citrus scented product.

I love the compact packaging for a LARGE supply of dishwasher soap. And, the smells they offer are wonderful to smell in the home. I was a little confused at how to use them, as silly as it sounds, because it is not at all clear on the package whether you are to use ONE OR TWO. Or, if it would be a very bad idea to use two at once. You see, with liquid detergent, I normally fill both cups of my machine. With this little "action pac," it is my understanding that you ONLY use one, and that it goes into the main cup that you close. (I put my action pac into the cup with the liquid side facing up.) I'd love to hear from anyone who has used two at once, and how that worked, or what others think.
I feel certain they get my dishes just as clean as the liquid version of Cascade, which I used prior to these. I guess my favorite part of them is the small packaging for the large amount, and the variety of smells that I can fill my home with while washing dishes.
Give them a try and see what you think. There's nothing wrong with this product. It's just a matter of preference, . . . do you prefer liquid, powder, or a little action pac of both? haha

I got a sample pack of these from Walmart, and I'm an instant convert! I used the 4 Action Pacs that came in the sample, and each time the result was beyond my expectations. I typically use the liquid dishwasher detergent and have had to wash the same load 2-3 times to get a decent result. The very first time I used these Pacs, everything came out sparkling clean! I actually had to parade the wine glasses in front of my husband to show him how clean they were. I am now putting these on auto-order with Amazon. I think this particular listing comes out the cheapest...about $0.18 per Pac if you use auto-order.Customer Review: Love it

I have no idea why, but I purchased a bag of these tablets in Canada on vacation from Australia. I just liked the look of them & it was nothing more than novelty value to me, really. Took them home & used them & my husband & I were both hooked from there. The product is so convenient to use, and cleans really well. A big plus is the fact that you NEVER end up with bits of undissolved tablet or powder stuck to the bottom of your dishwasher. This is a hellishly expensive way for us to buy such a basic product, so that alone should give you a good idea of how good we think it is.
