I shopped around on Amazon before buying this one because I had specific product requirements: ceramic hotplates, rounded edges so it wouldn't catch and tug/tear my hair, multiple heat settings and not overpriced. This one has all these features and it came with free shipping. So far I have not had any problems with it, it does exactly what it advertises and it makes my hair look great - I have thin hair but it has a lot of body/wave to it and this iron makes it sleek and it will stay for most of the day. Because my hair is thin I don't have the heat setting too high so I don't toast it, you can set it really hot, so if I was going out in the evening it only takes a couple of minutes to touch up. I had a CHI flatiron that suffered a dunk in the toilet from my children :=)
I thought I would trim $30 from my purchase and go with this one and there is no comparison between the two. My ends are so split up and ruined after using this product for nearly 6 months that it is ridiculous! It constantly pulls and catches my hair, which is painful and terribly uncomfortable. It also "crimps" when you turn it to tight, whereas the CHI would always leave a nice curl no matter what!
I have only given it this long so that I could ensure that it wasn't "seasonal" dry hair, or elements, etc. This product just plain STINKS! Spend the extra $30 and get yourself a CHI--you won't be disappointed!

I got this flat iron at Wal-Mart this past weekend for less than $15 - it was reduced in price, and I figured I'd see what the fuss was about ceramic flat irons before putting out the big bucks.
I have to say that I am impressed. I have thick wavy hair. Like one other reviewer noted, it doesn't do the ends very well, I had thought it was because I needed my ends trimmed, but I guess not. For the rest of the length though, it does great. I did my hair on Sunday and have been out in the rain for the past 2 days and it's still straight - which surprised the heck out of me.
I may upgrade to one of the fancier types later, but for now, this one is just fine.

I have fine, shoulder length, curly, and VERY frizzy hair. Each morning I attempt to blow-dry it straight, however, the minute I leave the house, and the humidity kicks in (I live in NJ - humidity is inevitable), my head turns into a giant ball of frizz. I had a non-ceramic flat iron for years, but it didn't work all that well, just fried my hair mostly. I did my research, and decided to give this product a chance. I couldn't be happier!!! it's 85 degrees outside right now, and i'm sitting in front of an open window, but my hair is perfectly straight and frizz-free!!! I placed my order for this flat iron on Monday night at 11pm, and on Wednesday at 5pm I already had it!

If you've been using other hair straightners that takes forever to heat up and need to stroke through your hair at least 5 times to get your hair straight, its time to throw that old straightner out and try this wonderful product!
Before I order this product, i'm thinking would this just be another cheap straightner that would take forever to heat and take strokes to straighting just like the other iron that i own? Well, i finally decided to ordered and give it a try. I recieved it and i tried it right away, this product is wonderful, it heats up in seconds, gives you perfect straight hair but just alil dangerous because this thing gets extremely hot. Overall, GREAT!
