I was skeptical due to its size, but I am so glad I gave it a try!! I have been using a Conair ceramic one with 2 inch plates, but it is difficult to handle and pulls hair out. This one is perfect! The size is actually a PLUS because it is so easy to use! I have long,layered hair, and I can run it through faster than with the 2 inch. I can get right next to the scalp with no problem. It just glides through and the corners are rounded, so no pulling hair out. The multiple heat settings are a bonus. Overall, it is designed perfectly! Also, I read many reviews on Chi and it apparently shorts out pretty easily. So, why spend the extra $$? I highly recommend this iron.Customer Review: Dependable product

I have had this straightener for 2 years now. Before this I had the same product for another two years (which my mom now has and uses daily). It is a very dependable and sturdy straightener. I have long curly hair and my hair always comes out straight and silky after use. I have had previous straighters that costed more than $200 and they didn't do any justice. One of the best reasons I think this one lasts the longest is because the wire that comes out swivels. Many straighteners do not last long bc the wire gets bent and comes loose when you bend it. Since this one swivels the wire never has to bend. If you are looking for a cheaper great product, this is it!Customer Review: Like Brand New Hair

I've had this flat iron for about a year - never had a problem. Gets seriously hot - my thick, ultra wavy hair is totally tamed by it. Slides through with no problem, and my hair actually feels HEALTHIER now - not the heat stroked, dryed out mess I feared after such long use.
10 minutes every other day and people actually think my hair is naturally straight! A couple of people even asked if I'd had a straight perm ... that is serious results for a girl who has been fighting with a flipping, curling, wavy mess her whole life.
I have medium hair and like the 1 inch - for anything longer than the shoulders I would get a 1.5 or 2 inch.

A friend of mine bought a flat iron and spent almost $300. I borrowed it and loved it, I had to have on too. I took my time searching the internet for the best price for the best iron. I came across a posting for this very iron and took someone else's advise. This iron saved me so much money. This iron is just as good as a $300 iron. I can straighten my hair in 20 minutes tops and I have a lot of hair. I love this iron!! The only draw back is the outside around the end of the iron can burn you, but that is expected when you reach temps of 450. This was also my first purchase on-line. I got such a good buy, I try to do most of my shopping at amazon.Customer Review: Very Pleased

I have been on a mission for awhile now to find a flat iron that I was happy with. I had bought one at Target and was completely dissatisfied with it. It didn't get hot enough and didn't glide through my hair. It is a completely different story with this one. When I first got it, it was a little smaller than I had expected. But this turned out to be a good thing, because it is so easy to maneuver through my hair. I have it on the middle heat setting and it gets plenty hot. It is easy to flip your hair under or out, and it glides smoothly through my hair. Overall I couldn't ask for anything more from a flat iron. I am very satisfied.
