Customer Review: Give it a chance-- It Certainly kept me Dri! (Haha...)
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm 12 years old, and sweating runs in my family. It isn't hyperhydrosis or whatever, but all of the girls on my dads side sweat a LOT. I mean... A lot lot. And then they mysteriously grow out of it around the age of 14. I started sweating like this about 6 months before I turned 12. I know, I know-- I'd grow out of it soon, but going 2 full years with the most embarassing sweat marks ever seemed unbearable, because I already get teased a lot because I wear a lot of black (NOT JUST TO HIDE PIT STAINS!)... Kids call me goth and stuff. I really don't care, but I still get teased a lot, which eventually turns into being called ugly and fat. (Funny how most people who call me fat weigh like 200000 pounds more than me, and I barely weigh 90 pounds, but that's another story) I didn't need 'sweaty' added to the list! So I was reading a lot of stuff about deoderant and sweating, and by chance found an article on Certain Dri. I picked my bottle up at Walgreens, but I'm pretty sure you can find it at grocery stores like Sentry and Pick N' Saves, too. I don't know where to get this outside of the U.S... Sorry.

I put it on before bed. I shower at night, but I left a few hours in between time. Anyways, I expected minimal results. There was some tingling and burning, but it wasn't anything unbearable. I went to school the next day, fully armed with a hoodie in my locker so if Certain Dri, like so many others (Sure, Secret, Secret Platinum, Arrid XX-tra Dry--So called twenty four hour protection. Pffft--, Adidas-- Adidas makes EVERYTHING... And, just like their shoes and perfume the deoderant sucks unless you barely sweat-- Degree--To their credit, it doesn't leave any white marks. Just pit stains.--, and some others I probably forgot) would fail me. For the first half of the day, I felt no sweating. Just after lunch, I started sweating a little, mainly because the class I have after lunch is very warm and the teacher never opens a window. There were very light, quickly fading pit stains, nothing you could notice!

The next day, it got better. There was a little, tiny stain the size of my pinky fingernail (In other words, barely half an inch) on my shirt. And the day after that, there was nothing at all, even when I was in my stuffy, muggy Tech. Ed classroom. (I don't even like Tech Ed, but we have a juinor high- grades 7-8- instead of a middle school- grades 6-8-, so we don't pick our electives this year) I haven't been visited by the Pit Stain Pixie since. I guess if you stuck me over a boiling cauldron for a while, I would sweat a bit, but you get the point.

If this product doesn't eleminate all of your sweating at once, be patient. I know a friend and it took almost a week for her to have the same results I had in 2 days.

Some tips-- Never, EVER EVER scratch if it tingles or itches or burns! That messes it up, big time. I scratched once and it didn't work as well for that arm as it should have for a few days. Some people mess it up so bad by scratching it NEVER works AT ALL for that armpit again.

Don't put it on just after shaving. I guess something in your pits is a little more open, but it burns more than usual.

Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work instantly! It will, eventually, unless your underarm is holding the Pacific Ocean back from California or something.

For some reason, if you put it on RIGHT (not even two hours after) after showering, it doesn't seem to work well at all.

Put on regular deoderant in the morning, especially if you have odor problems. This does NOT stop odor. At least put some perfume on-- no one likes smelling, and no one likes smelling someone who smells.

I hope this works for you like it did for me!

Customer Review: Strong but not lasting results
Summary: 2 Stars

I sweat very heavily and have experienced sweat rings almost down to my waist. It is an extremely embarrassing situation that has somewhat dictated my life for the past couple of years. I could only wear dark clothing and had to limit my wardrobe. For a woman this is horrible and discouraging because you don't get to wear any of the cute styles the way you want to. I tried using baking soda and every anti-perspirant on the market. You name it, I've tried it. I can remember sitting in my office and slyly trying to check my armpits before anyone walked by. I used to stuff paper towels and toilet paper underneath my arms and would change them out about twice a day while at work. I even tried layering my clothes but on a hot summer day the only thing this accomplished was the generation of more heat...and I also looked like an idiot. Also, worrying about my armpits made the sweat even greater.

Finally I saw one of the commercials for Certain Dri and decided to try it. After reading the reviews, I took heed of the advice about closely following the directions. I followed directions and what do you know, the product WORKED!! I was so happy and excited. Unfortunately, the excitement did not last long. After about three weeks, I began to have sweat rings again and all the new shirts and blouses that I had bought were ruined. I was very disappointed. I decided to apply more of the Certain Dri at night and this didn't work. My skin broke out and it itched like CRAAAAZY!! My armpits became really dark and ugly looking. So I read another reviewer's advice where he stated that he received positive results from applying Certain Dri in the morning after a shower, drying out the armpits, rubbing Certain Dri in with his fingers and then using a blow dryer to make sure it was really dry. Alot of steps but I decided to try. It worked for half a day the first day and didn't work at all on the second day. I just decided to give up and return to my drab dark clothing.

A few months later I did more research on this subject and found out about Maxim, an anti-perspirant distributed by Corad Healthcare, Inc. It is doctor and dermatologist recommended. It costs just under $20 but you know what, IT IS WORTH IT. I followed directions closely and the sweat rings gradually disappeared within a week. I only had slight irritation but it went away after a few days. Nothing at all like the irritation I had with Certain Dri. It has been three months and this product continues to work. I only need to apply it every two or three nights before bedtime and the results are awesome. I don't know if this has something to do with the results but I also use Arrid Extra Extra Dry solid in the morning. I feel like I have my life back!!!! I've been in situations that have made me anxious or nervous but I have not experienced the usual sweat rings!! The skin color underneath my arms has returned to normal and I am just ecstatic with the results of this product. So for a few extra dollars, you should do yourself a favor and buy a quality product that CONSISTENTLY DELLIVERS without causing a rash and skin darkening problems.

You can find out more information at www.coradhealthcare.com. I'm not posting this to slam Certain Dri but to simply let people out there in my situation know that there is another option if Certain Dri hasn't worked for them. You're not a "freak" and you're definitely not alone.

Customer Review: An Awesome Product!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had suffered from hyperhydrosis for about 11 years. In certain social situations...it got even worse...or in very stressful situations. I spent so much money on clothes that I had to throw away I could not even begin to estimate. Absolutely nothing worked...even when I asked my doctor what to do, he was clueless...If you suffer from this condition, you know just how frustrating and embarrassing it can be. Basically humiliating on a day in day out basis. I even considered surgery to correct this problem, that is how much I hated the condition. (By the way, surgery is now available and getting safer, more affordable, and less intrusive according to some news reports I have seen!)

About a year ago, I started using this product. Within one to two days, I was noticeably drier. Within 3 to 4 days, I was thrilled! I have probably about 95%+ less perspiration now. On a normal day that is not too loaded with stress, I am basically 100% free of excess perspiration. I am able to wear long sleeve shirts without overheating and having a problem. I am able to wear white shirts....And to date, I have ruined absolutely NO CLOTHES!!!!! If you take the price of clothes into consideration that were getting tossed out before they were even broken in, this stuff is worth its weight in gold!

A couple of considerations...the first couple three times you use it, you will feel some discomfort. Slight stinging or irritation is pretty common until your body gets used to it. Also, you will use less of this than a normal anti-perspirant / deodorant. Therefore, it goes a little further than you might expect 1.2 ounces to go...It actually lasts quite a while. Also, you will not be able to wash under your arms quite as often. When you wash with soap, you will basically take your barrier of protection off and you will then spend two to three days building it back up again. You will be putting it on in the evening just before bed and then you are able to shower in the morning and it will be dry and leave you comfortable. You can wash your under arms with warm water, but like I said if you use soap, it will take the certain dri off.

Certain dry has a Companion product to address the minimal potential odor you might have from putting the protection on at night and then going through the day without recent protection. I found the companion as not really that effective for me. It seemed to increase wetness and did very little to help. The best thing to do is maintain your personal cleanliness as best as possible. Keep under arm hair very short or shaved and use your certain dri as directed.

From what is out there....for me, nothing else worked and this product was an absolute blessing in my life. Unless I can correct the problem permanently through surgery, I would not be without this product.

I would buy it and give it a try...what have you got to lose...other than wet shirts?

Customer Review: My Life is Certainly Dri Thanks to Certain Dri!
Summary: 5 Stars

Certain Dri saved me. It saved me from my embarrassment and from my discomfort. Everyday I sweated profusely since the year 1999. I literally had to change my shirt everytime I arrived home from school because it would be soaked with sweat and I was very disgusted by that. But, since I have discovered the power of Certain Dri, I have been relieved from my embarrassment and from my discomfort--My life certainly became drier.
My profuse sweating began when I was 13 years old. While I was sitting in my classrom learning, cold, icky streams of sweat dripped down the sides of my body. No matter if I was hot or cold I would sweat incessantly for no reason at all. At the end of the school day my armpits produced enough sweat to fill two medium-sized kiddie pools.
I tried to hide my sweat with sweaters and jackets and extra shirts but when summer arrived I had to find another way to mask my embarrassment. I tried all of the so-called antiperspirants that I could find but all of them were futile, except for one--Certain Dri!
Certain Dri is the only antiperspirant that I have used, (and I have used many), that actually works. It fights excessive perspiration and amazingly reduces underarm wetness with its main ingredient, aluminum chloride.
If misused Certain Dri will not work properly and it can also cause painful side effects. I strongly suggest following the directions on the label to apply to the underarms sparingly and only at bedtime because I have misused the product before and suffered the consequences. Using Certain Dri incorrectly resulted in my underarms feeling like killer bees were constantly stinging my armpits. In addition, small knots formed under my arms. However, when I use Certain Dri correctly it does not cause any discomfort.
I am 18 years old and I have been using Certain Dri for five years now. I cannot possibly live in peace without it. One night of Certain Dri gives me 3 to 5 days of driness under my arms. I no longer have to face the world with embarrassing sweaty armpits and sweat-stained shirts. I no longer have to suffer through the uncomfortable feeling of cold streams of sweat flowing freely down the side of my body either. Excessive perspiration, or hyperhydrosis, is one problem that I do not have to sweat about anymore. Thanks to Certain Dri my life is certainly drier and I highly recommend Certain Dri to anyone who unfortunately suffers with excessive perspiration under their arms because if it worked for me for 5 years it can work for anyone.

Customer Review: Raise your hand if you're Certain!
Summary: 5 Stars

As the resident pit-stain guy in the office, I was desperate to find a solution to my excessive underarm perspiration. Whether it was being asked to get something from the top shelf -- or the never-ending requests to do the "field goal" signal -- my coworkers shared many a laugh at chatchi's expense.

While it is not uncommon to have perspiration rings under the arms of your shirt, it IS uncommon to have those rings bleed down to your belt. Doctor's call it Axillary Hyperhidrosis -- chatchi calls it "Swamp Pits". My perspiration was becoming so unmanageable, I would wear four (4) undershirts to prevent the stains from bleeding through to my dress shirts. The idea worked, but the extra layers only caused chatchi to sweat even more.

The average adult perspires a little more than one quart of fluid per day. chatchi perspired more than SEVEN quarts of fluid per day. After failing numerous job interviews, and scaring away an immeasurable amount of potential romantic companions because of my mind-boggling sweat production, it was time for me to get help.

My search ended with Certain Dri. This remarkable, non-prescription product is applied to the underarm area before you go to bed. While the concept might seem unusual, you wouldn't be reading this review unless you were used to going to unusual lengths to prevent underarm perspiration.

Certain Dri is applied in place of your regular anti-perspirant/deodorant, but I'd advise still using a scented deodorant every day, since Certain Dri does a less than adequate job of masking the stench. The first time you use the product, don't be surprised if you experience a slight irritation to the underarms (comparable to bathing in gasoline, then setting yourself on fire) -- that's the 12% aluminum chloride going to work. Don't worry, the irritation will go away after a couple of days. The roll-on applicator is less than desirable -- ripping out armpit hairs during application -- but I suppose it's better than those nasty aerosol brands.

Just how good is Certain Dri? Well, the directions say that, when used "sparingly", Certain Dri can prevent perspiration for up to 84 hours after application. I've found that I can literally go weeks without applying Certain Dri, and my pits remain dry as a desert. My confidence has been restored in interviews, and women are no longer turned off by extreme underarm moisture.

Thanks to Certain Dri, chatchi had the last laugh.
