In looking for a good laundry soap for cloth diapering, Charlie's came highly recommended. Like many other reviewers, I now use Charlie's not only for diapers, but for all of my family's laundry. The clothes get every bit as clean as before, if not cleaner, I don't use fabric softener anymore and don't miss it a bit. The clothes feel soft as ever and they smell SO GOOD! With Charlie's tag line: "If you want flowers, go pick some.", I thought I would miss the nice perfumed smell of the clothes when they came out of the drier, but it's amazing how nice just plain, clean fabric smells. The diapers are getting so clean. They come out without a single stain every time, and I am not one who stops and scrubs each one before washing, just shake off the big stuff and throw it in the bag. Makes cloth diapering so much less intimidating and stress free.
I've read complaints about the dispenser pump for the 1 gallon jug. Expecting it to not work properly, I marked out a one ounce line on a little plastic container, and just planned on using that and not worrying about measuring with the pump. Interestingly, my pump measures exactly to that one ounce line with just one squirt every time. Maybe at the end of the bottle I might have some problems, and maybe I just got lucky to get a really good pump. Anyway, not a big deal to find a way to measure one ounce.
Two more thing: 1) With the last detergent we were using we were getting TONS of holes in our socks (new socks, old socks, all socks) Since switching the problem is gone. 2) If you ever need to contact Charlie's for anything be prepared for terrific customer service. They were very quick to respond and resolve my issue.
