These are the "classic" Chinese relaxation balls (also called baoding balls). Each of the two balls measures about 1.5 inches in diameter (ca. 38 mm) and the set comes in a charming embroidered box, as so many do. The price was more than fair and the shipping, via First Class, got them to me quickly. These balls are a very good size for any non-child beginner who wants to start enjoying the soothing chimes and the therapeutic effect of taking the balls in hand and giving them a good rotational workout (see [...] for more explicit directions).
They seem very well-made and the enamel on the outside will clearly stand some abuse. However, something seems to have been lost in the translation. I ordered them from House of Rice, was told the order would be handled by L&M Sales, then by More Fun N Games. USPS tracking told me that the set had been put in the mail in Endicott, NY, but the package actually seems to have entered the mail stream in Pennsylvania under yet another name. Everything went fine and the order never seemed to get bogged down . . . except that the balls I receive have a RED background, not blue! These are for myself, not as a gift, so I've decided to live with them. I would have happily given this product five stars if not for the color discrepancy.
