Customer Reviews of CliC Adjustable Front Connect Reader, 2.00 Strength, Tortoise Frame

Customer Review: Always Ready!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was just reading the last few reviews and I think the "reviewers" have been really hard on this great little invention. I can't speak from a larger head perspective, but for me they work great. Yes, they take a little getting used to, but they are always at my finger tips and ready to be used. I had to get used to searching to find just one pair of my many, many readers in the past. I was constantly fishing them out of laundry baskets, the yard and off of the floor. Clics don't fall off your head, out of your pocket or have the look of a granny chain like conventional readers! I see many people have a pair of readers hanging from their collar, while also having a pair on top of their heads. Clics are simple. They are durable, convenient and I have had literally more complements on them than I can count. Best of all they are high quality and work well. On the ever so slight down side... Yes they are impossible to sit in bed and read with if you are planning on leaning back. Dig out your old readers for this task. :) Also I purchased a second pair and they now have a tiny little white word "Clic" at the upper corner of the lens. Kind of irritating being a walking billboard. Other than that, I can't recommend them highly enough! Oh and they come in sunglass readers as well!!

Customer Review: Handy, tough but too expensive
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought a couple of pairs of these a few years ago and they are tough and I have liked them. They have out-lasted all the other magnifiers I have bought. I would have given these glasses a 5 star review but the manufacturer has doubled the price. I can see raising the price due to the increase in manufacturing costs but to double the price just because they are popular and gouging people really raises my hackles. I am sure I have sold quite a few of these glasses myself over the years just from 'word of mouth' recommendation. You consumers go ahead and decide if they are worth the price to you. I am just annoyed because when people have less money it is criminal to double the price on something like this. Yes, the quality is decent (better than Chinese goods) and the glasses are handy but I must say I was shocked to see the current price. Inflation? No, gouging the public in a recession.

March 2011 update: I must say these glasses are sturdy and have outlasted all my other drug store 'cheaters'. But I am sorta annoyed that the manufacturer is now gouging people to the tune of about 30 bucks a pair! WOW! That is almost double what I paid for my two pair back a few years ago. Sheesh! I know everything has gone up, but 29.99? I paid 16.99 a pair for them.

Customer Review: They work for me ....
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought a pair of these in December and am now ordering two more pair just in case I ever lose or break them. I no longer need to keep a dozen pair of cheap reading glasses spread around the house, office, and autos. Some key points:

1) They fit me just fine, (hat size 7 3/4) and are always there when I need them.

2) They're small enough so that with a slight tilt of my head I can easily look over them for long distance sight without removing them.

3) They're so light that I often forget I have them on once I slip them down and sometime go lookng for them when I'm haveing a "serious senior moment".

4) They lay high enough on my chest when removed from eyes, so that they don't interfer with carrying large objects. I've broken several pair of glasses in the past by squeezing them with large packages/objects when carried in my shirt pocket or on a traditional glasses strap.

5) They don't work well for me when reading in bed. The strap behind my head is uncomfortable, so I still keep a pair of other reading glasses by the bed.

6) They're a novelty. Other people always comment when they see me use them.

Customer Review: Not as great as I thought...
Summary: 1 Stars

These are clumsy....I agree with Keith, in the review above. My hubby has a big neck (from football physique) and these are not comfortable for him. I would still like the magnetic front closure, but it would be nice if the back, that goes around your neck, were a bit more flexible.
As it is now, I have to unconnect these so many times, it's irritating. They don't just slide off, like on a chain of rope. You have to pull them apart and connect them around your neck. Then pull them apart and re-adjust them on the bridge of your nose. I know this sounds petty, or silly, but until you wear them, it's hard to explain. You can't just 'flick' them off...they are wrapped around your head. I think you will either love or hate this feature.
Also, I would prefer that the magnifying lenses be like half-lenses so if I have to get up and walk around, or look at something in the distance, I could just look over the tops of the lenses.
Maybe it's all in what you're used to...but I won't buy another pair until there are some changes in the design.

Customer Review: I love these for work!!
Summary: 5 Stars

[...]I have a big head, I can never wear baseball caps, but they fit fine, both ways. I have easily gotten in the habit of clicking them together and the dropping them down to my neck. It freaks people out all the time, which is pretty funny! I only wear them at work, because the size makes them not very portable, you can't keep them in your purse. The only thing that really bothers me about them, is that they get smudged easily because I touch them all the time to open and close. Also, admitedly, they are a little dorky and and hard to wear with a pony tail. I usually slide them under my hair, it is more comfortable. But, all in all, I love Clics. The very best thing about them is that I don't put my glasses on top of my head anymore. I hate the way they would always get tangled in my hair and I had to rip them out! Ouch!
