Customer Reviews of Clif Bar Builder's Bar, Chocolate Peanut Butter, 2.4-Ounce Bars, Pack of 12Customer Review: Definitely one of the best tasting protein bars available... Summary: 5 Stars
Plain and simple, these Builder's Bars are one of the best tasting protein bars you can get. They are crispy and chewy at the same time and they aren't super sweet like a candy bar. And at 2.4 ounces a piece they are large enough and filling enough to be a meal replacement.
And the one thing that I really like is that when I read the ingredients, I actually know what the stuff is! Nothing weird or unnatural, just real ingredients!
Out of the four flavors available (Chocolate Mint, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Cookies `n Cream) I prefer the Chocolate Mint and Peanut Butter, mainly because they taste even less like a protein bar. I'm not saying the plain Chocolate and Cookies 'n Cream are bad tasting, just that I prefer the taste of the Chocolate Mint and Peanut Butter ones (they are all really tasty).
These are just awesome, 100% natural, high protein, real ingredients, and they taste great! I just love them!
A bit of product info:
Chocolate Mint: 32% organic ingredients
Chocolate: 33% organic ingredients
Cookies `n Cream: 35% organic ingredients
Peanut Butter: 35% organic ingredients
Side note:
Do not buy these expired (like on eBay or in-store)! Since these bars do not contain any preservatives they can loose their freshness and vitamin potency quickly and can develop a simple bread mold. It is recommended that they be eaten within a month of their sell by date (they are guaranteed to be fresh one month passed the sell by date printed on the wrapper).
Customer Review: Amazing Bars! Don't buy them on Amazon though... Summary: 2 Stars
For years, I've always wanted to find something that would fill me up in between meals. I've tried apples, bananas, peanut butter, bread, pasta etc...
The Clif Builder bars are the only things that work! I recently got back from a trip abroad to Asia, I brought 40 of these bars with me so that I could have one each day if I needed. They saved me over there!
Anyway, these bars are great if you're backpacking or in the workplace (I have a box underneath my desk) and will keep you awake and satiate your hunger during the 3 o'clock slump.
HOWEVER, do not buy these on Amazon. I ordered a box of 12 and while they looked find from the outside, on the inside, much of the chocolate covering was broken up into little pieces. As you unwrap the bar, these little pieces fall out and may stain your clothes if you are not careful. Also, the bars did not taste as fresh as they should be -- I think they have been sitting in a steamy Amazon.com warehouse for quite some time.
BUY these instead at Trader Joe's, which should stock them. They are about $1.50 there so the price difference is pretty minute.
Customer Review: Best protein bar without a doubt! Summary: 5 Stars
I was put on by my Kinesiology teacher, he would eat them in the morning during class and told us that they were the best in his opinion. I then purchased the 12pk chocolate builder bar first and wow.. I quickly ordered two more boxes, mint chocolate chip (which tastes a lot like the mint chocolote girl scout cookies) and peanut butter. These protein bars are SO GOOD that I have to keep myself from eating too many and make em last. I look forward to eating them. I usually have one in between breakfast and lunch while I'm in classes and sometimes also have a second later on in the day for a snack after workout. If I had to rank the flavors I purchased, even though they are all delicious, I would rank: Tied for 1st. Mint chocoloate/Peanut butter and 2nd. Chocolate. Oh, and 20g of protein and natural ingredients. Has 20g of sugar also, which is kind of high, but it doessss taste great! lol
Customer Review: Tastes quite good--good price Summary: 5 Stars
Of the protein bars I've tasted, and there have been plenty, this is perhaps the best or at least tied. I liked the balance bar a lot, but it was primarily made with ingredients that seemed to come from a biology laboratory rather than someone's kitchen. The Cliff Bar provides 20 grams of protein, which is certainly enough for one bar, and the ingredients appear to be just as touted--largely organic. I like that.
The peanut butter crunch flavor is actually quite good, and goes down nice with milk or coffee. I highly recommend this product in this flavor and will buy again.
You should note that Cliff bars are available with and without protein, so if you want a protein bar, be sure to order it; not the energy bar. Lastly, the price is quite good, about $1.45 a bar or so. At GNC you'd pay over $3 for protein bars sold separately.
Customer Review: I'd eat these bars and nothing else if they made a well-balanced diet Summary: 5 Stars
I used to be into tasting all the various cuisines like Thai, Indian, Japanese, etc. But lately I find myself pretty busy and I don't really like to sit down for a couple of hours delectating on the various exotic dishes. That said, the cliff protein bars are terrific. I can eat one for a mid-day meal, and they are filling and I actually like eating them. The manufacturers have definitely found the right formula. No other product of its kind comes close. Cliff makes a smaller bar--about 1.8 ounces or so, with a lot less protein, and I could easily eat three of them and still want more. I went through two cases of the protein bars in about 10 days. They can become addicting if you're looking for a quick meal.
