Customer Review: Great taste and more satisfying than Powerbar

I'm a big Clif Bar fan and Blueberry Crisp is one of my favorite flavors. I generally eat one of these bars about 30-45 minutes before a tennis match or a long run and it helps to satisfy my hunger as well as provide a little boost of energy to get me going. I've tried all sorts of other protein bars, but most end up being way too chalky tasting or dipped in chocolate to the point that any nutritional value is compromised. Powerbars are another alternative, but I find the chewy consistency displeasing and when those bars get warm they turn into a tough sticky mess.
Clif Bars are the way to go and hopefully you can get a good price on a multipack. Target and most supermarkets also sell single bars so you can find out what flavors you like before committing to a multipack purchase.

I've been getting this through the subscribe and save program for about a year and Amazon just chose to discontinue selling it. I checked at Clif Bar's Web site and they still make the Blueberry Crisp Clif Bar so I'm not sure why it got dropped from Amazon but I'm disappointed. I previously bought the combo pack that Costco sells but found the Blueberry Crisp flavor to be so much better than the peanut butter, chocoalte chip, and oatmeal rasin flavors that I refuse to go back to eating those.
I'm now going to try a couple of different flavored Odwalla Bars, also avaialable at Amazon One is banana nut, the other is a berry (I think strawberry). I tend to prefer fruit flavors to chocolate or peanut butter flavored protein bars.
It is hoped Amazon will bring these back.

I knew Clif bars are good tasting, and buy them because they have a great balance of nutrients and fill you up between meals. I bought the Blueberry Crisp for a flavor variety and it is very good tasting with good consistency.
Just what I was looking for at a fair price; I eat one variety almost every afternoon as a 'good' snack. I carry them as emergency rations when I am hunting in remote locations.
I also eat one as breakfast out in my hunting blind which does many things. It makes it faster to get out of the cabin in the morning; it is easier to walk to my blind because I'm not full from bacon and eggs; I don't get hungry in the field; and I don't have a pile of dishes to clean up when I get back.

The Blueberry Crisp is one of my favorite Clif Bar flavors. Another good flavor is the Black Cherry Almond. Nutrition is good. The only downside to these is the sugar content which is moderately high at over 20gms per bar (which caused me to deduct one rating star). Salt content is not really low, but okay.
Personally, I would rather trade a little flavor for less sugar. I would like to see them reduce the sugar to 12gms or less per bar. Otherwise, it's a nice healthy snack.

I would like this flavor more if it were less sweet. The entire bar is glazed with a sugar coating (like a clear sugar coating) and it's kind of gross. I get sick of the sweetness about halfway through and become kind of disgusted. I like the Cool Mint more than this one; it's less sugary on the outside. Perhaps if they did the swirl of sugar instead of glazing the entire thing it'd be better.
