I just got started in DE (dual edged) single blade shaving. I ordered 2 pucks of Col. Conks soaps and while both perform great, the almond is my favorite if I had to pick. Lathers great, smells great, shaves great. I think I'm always going to have Col. This is a great shave soap to use with my Merkur DE razor and badger brush. The soap has almond and avocado oil as moisturizers. I am so happy that there is not a hint of mint or alcohol [to my knowledge] in this soap-I really do not enjoy all that tingling or feeling of dryness after shaving. It is nearly impossible to get shaving soap in the small town I live in, so I have to take my chances when I purchase this sort of thing on-line. This soap is fantastic! Great almond smell. Great lather whips up pronto. I am hooked on it.Customer Review: Close smooth shave

It is a cake of shaving soap. You need to put it in a mug for best results. The plastic container it comes in does not allow room to work up a lather. Nonetheless it does a good job of sudsing and softening your beard.Customer Review: Pleasant but can be too strong at times

It leathers up great - just a small amount on the brush and you're ready to go. The almond smell is not for everyone and while pleasant, it's really not for big phifs. Stop smelling and just start shaving.
