This Conair Flat Iron is awesome. It was my first and only flat iron and it works so well on my curly hair. I have very thick curly frizzy hair and when I use this flat iron my hair comes out looking smooth and shiny and straight!!! My hairstylist recommended OPTIONS by framesi WAY SMOOTH stop frizz cream and I use the frizz cream right before I straighten my hair and the combination is amazing. My hair is frizz free and straight! Once you straighten it could last for weeks! I've had it for years now and I have no problem with it and it works just like new. There are various settings you can choose from to accomodate different hair types and best of all it has an auto shut-off! I highly recommend this product!Customer Review: Does it's job

The product itself does exactly what it's designed to do. The heat settings are nice, though I find myself accidentally turning it up while straightening my hair because of the placement of the dial. I have very straight hair as it is, but I wanted something that would smooth it out after blow drying, and this does a great job. If I were to purchase again I would get the 1" [or whatever the smaller one is] size because this is a bit too big for my shoulder length hair. I may find it more useful once my hair gets longer again.
Overall, I'd recommend this product to anyone that has a decent amount of hair and it seems like it would work for all hair types with how high you can get the heat.

I LOVE this product and bought two of them here to stock up - then I read the bad reviews that the picture was deceptive and what was shipped didn't have the comb attachment. I thought I was going to have to return them, but they had the attachments!!!
For those who haven't used this item and are intimidated (it feels awkward) about the comb/brush attachments, or just can't see any purpose in it, the comb, when on the downside while ironing the hair, combs it straight down for the heat of the flat iron to do its job well - without repeated use. Without the comb attachment, it works as well as the best regular flat irons, but with the comb and used correctly? Awesome!

I love this hair straightener... got it about 2 1/2 years ago and use it almost daily. My hair glides smoothly over it, and the coating on the ceramic plates hasn't worn off like my previous (non-ceramic) hair straightener. I like the adjustable heat settings, but it's easy to push the dial by mistake and end up with a much hotter (or cooler) setting than you intended. It heats up fast, too.
Unfortunately, after 2 1/2 years of use, it's now getting stuck in the closed position when I use it. It's still usable, but it's time for a replacement. Friends of mine have purchased the $150+ irons and have had theirs wear out faster, so I guess I can't complain.

So far I have had the straightener for about two weeks, it heats up fast, to a high heat if needed. I haven't had any problems with this device. I would recommend this item though if you were in the market of looking for an affordable flat iron that gave you the same quality straightening power of a hot tools, now it doesn't get that hot, but it's pretty darn close. I have very thick hair and it takes me less then a half hour now to straighten it all.
I gave it four stars just because I wasn't blown away by the product, now if it was a singing straightener maybe we'd be on to something. just kidding.
But really this is a good product, I highly recommend it
