Customer Review: Works on Very Curly Hair

I have long, thick, curly (frizzy, mediterranean) hair which I straighten, but which nonetheless frizzes if not properly dried. I've just tried this dryer -- I have several dryers, including the $235.00 tourmaline/ceramic/ionic -- and it works. The ends are not a problem (see previous review). You do have to get your fingers out of the way -- i.e., let go -- but you can curl your hand around the brush-end of the dryer to hold the ends flat as they dry. My hair looked as well or better as when I dry it in sections with the $235.00 hairdryer and a large brush. While the Conair blow dry was not quite as smooth as those that I've had at a high-end NYC salon, it definitely was as smooth as a "no appointment, FIFO" moderately priced salon blow dry. I would recommend it to anyone who has difficult hair and can't afford weekly blow-drys.Customer Review: Good for the round-brush challenged!

I have had this dryer for about a week now, and I have to say, aside from being a little weird to use the first few times, it does nice work. Before this, no matter how I tried, I would still have to flat iron my hair before I left the house. With this product, I get a smooth and soft look, with more volume than the flat iron would leave me. So, although it doesn't replace the sleekness of a flat iron, I no longer 'have' to use it.
I never watched the DVD and had no problems figuring it out: Just a little trouble getting the hang of it, but still ended with fabulous results. Also, it dries your hair quick-quick-quick. My old dryer couldn't come close.
I would recommend using a thermal protector when using this, as your hair is awfully close to the dryer and it gets much hotter than my old one.

I have really straight, fine hair that sometimes flips under and so I thought this blow dryer would be the best. It works for tough flips and makes them more manageable, but the strength of the blow dryer blows my hair out of the holding mechanism even when it's at it's highest tension. This makes it really hard to use the attachment in your hair.
Even when having my sister try and use the attachment in my hair, it doesn't seem to work as well as it could. The angles are sometimes awkward - and the attachments can rotate - but they are so hot during use that you can't touch them.
Regardless, the attachment is a nice feature to try and use when you really have a bad hair day, and the blow dryer itself (without the attachment) is of a very high quality and drys my hair faster than a regular blow dryer.

I should have paid more attention to the photos showing someone with very long hair using this dryer. Mine is just shoulder length and I found it nearly impossible to keep the hair between the grooves of the straightening attachment, even on the highest tension setting. I could only hold onto the ends for about half the length of the strand, and as soon as I let go, the air coming from the dryer would just blow the hair right off the attachment. It wasn't helpful to use low speed either. It was also a hassle to keep switching the position of the attachment for different areas of your head, and it gets very hot to touch when you need to turn it. I suspect this would work great on longer hair, but for me it ended up being just another blow dryer. Since I own three already, the sixty-dollar one has to go back.Customer Review: I love it. I have long thick hair that is partially curly, mostly frizzy - just depends on the weather. I was hesitant to buy at first due to the cost, but when I factored in I go through a blow dryer about one a year for $25 then the straighteners are another $25 so it evened out but the conair dryer has a 5 year warranty. I'm AMAZED at how soft it makes my hair. The first day I used it I had such bounce and it was so smooth. Even after I slept on it all night I woke the next day and still felt so great - like I didn't even need to wash it again. I can't keep my hands out of my soft hair now!
It is so simple to use and saves me so much time in the mornings now. I highly recommend this blow dryer to anyone who wishes to have soft straight hair and wants to save time on their daily beauty routine!
