I have really coarse, frizzy, and thick hair. Yes..a rat's nest. Haha. Anyway, I needed to get a new hairdryer and I had heard about the Conair Ion. I bought it. The price was good. The next day, I blew dry my hair and my hair was a complete frizz ball. It fealt like straw. I see this hairdryer is getting good reviews..that's why I'm saying it might just be MY hair that this dryer doesn't work for. I love this dryer. I have really dry and curly hair and i used it along with some of my products and it straightened my hair very nicely. The ion setting is great. My hair wasnt very frizzy at all and was pretty straight! Its easy to use, though I will say on occasion I have turned the Ion part on and off along with the power since all those are push buttons and right on the handle. but in general its not really that much of a bother to me.Customer Review: Good hair dryer

Bought this because my TINY hair dryer of 15 years died. I like this one, but its big, again, my other dryer was TINY. So this was an adjustment. I haven't noticed any major differences in my hair, but its less static-y.
My kids like it because of the warm setting, its perfect for them. They also like the cool button...I don't really use it myself.
Overall, does a great job...price was right...I'd buy it again

For the most part, I like this hair drier. It works fine, and I can use it while my kids are sleeping because it's quiet and not high-pitched. But as others have remarked, it is awkward to hold because if you don't get it just right, you can keep turning it off accidentally. (It's especially a problem when I'm using a round brush because part of the control of the hand holding the blowdrier is given to the round brushing.) I like that it does make my less frizzy than my previous hair dryer due to the warm heat setting. (Has hot and warm settings.) But the cord is too short - only 5 feet long. Not a "professional length cord" as stated in the description. The motor definitely is not quiet either. It has a loud, hollow sound to it. It is full-sized so it is quite bulky and takes up a lot of counter real estate. I was disappointed so ended up returning it.
