Customer Reviews of Conair MBTS2N Deluxe Soft Cushion Thermal Bath SpaCustomer Review: Worth it for the price! Summary: 4 Stars
I gave this only 4 stars because it isn't a "hot tub", jacuzzi, or "spa tub". But, for around $35, I can enjoy a nice "spa tub" like bath. Yes, it's a little loud. Yes, it doesn't stick to the tub like you'd think it would with all the suction cups. However, I don't have a hot tub, I don't have a spa tub, I don't have a jacuzzi. I suffer from a painful muscle disorder, so I wanted something that might help ease the pain. With a little Epsom Salts, which you may use with this, this does the trick. When I first got in the tub, and had to wrestle with the mat to keep it down, I was doubting my purchase, but once I got settled, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. Some reviewers stated that the water doesn't stay hot. It says that in the literature, and I found that if I stay in it for the recommended 15-20 minutes, it stays hot enough. I did notice it shooting out cooler water toward the end, but I figured it was time to get out anyway. Would I buy it again? Sure, unless I can afford the real thing. It did what I wanted it to do, what more can you ask.
Customer Review: Great and relaxing! Summary: 5 Stars
The mat sticks very well to the tub's surface with the suction cups. It works even better when you get the tub surface wet before sticking it down. The thermal feature also kept the water at a comfortable temperature for as long as I wanted to stay in the tub. I am sure it would cool off after a while, but every bath cools down after you stay in it for a long time. The motor was not very noisy at all, especially because it had such a long hose and cord that I was able to put the motor part outside the bathroom. The only noisy part was all the bubbles coming up into the tub, but it sounded like a whirlpool tub and not louder than that. The bubbles felt really good bubbling up around me. I would really recommend it! We have a small tub so the mat fit perfectly in the bottom. If you had a really big bathtub, it probably wouldn't work as well because the mat is kind of narrow. The motor is very small and convenient to store right in the cabinet in the bathroom. This makes an ordinary bathtub into a very enjoyable experience!
Customer Review: This is Wonderful! Getting one for relatives and friends Summary: 5 Stars
I don't know what everyone is whining about. I LOVE MY BATH MAT!! I have a chronic muscle disorder and am in quite alot of pain all the time. I found this unit to be wonderful. It also helps me relax before bedtime so that I can get some sleep (my disorder causes insomnia) so I just love it. I did find that you do need to make your bath water as hot as you can stand it and roll gently to one side then the other to get the best benefits out of it. I stay in it for 30 minutes or so and I don't care if I get a little water splashed on the floor...I just wipe it up with a towel. I am currently on the web to buy one for my mother who has the same disorder that I have...and I know she is going to love it too! I have never been able to afford the big hottub/jacuzzi, so this works great for an alternative.
Customer Review: POWERFUL...But Not Thermal!!! Summary: 4 Stars
If you can't afford a real spa, like me, then this is a fine alternate. If you get the tub surface wet before sticking the mat down, the suction cups will firmly hold the mat in place. I was surprized how powerful the bubbles were. They almost felt like the jets in a big hot tub. The only thing is that this spa is not thermal. Even on the box it said THERMAL in bold, red letters. It's not that big of a problem, though. It's ok if you use soaps and shampoos. You only have to use a little bit of bath gel because the rapid movement of the water makes many soapy bubbles. My daughter dumped the normal amount she uses into the tub and a few minutes later it was overflowing with suds! I didn't believe she only added a little bit. She thought it was funny until I made her clean it up! It's a wonderful spa overall.
Customer Review: Cheap alternative to $1000+ hot tub Summary: 5 Stars
Boy are the previous reviewers on the soft mat and the earlier Conair spa mat a bunch of whiners! Clearly none of them has ever been in a Jacuzzi equipped tub. Guess what folks, in order to make this many bubbles, the unit's going to make noise. The Conair unit sounds like a small vacuum cleaner plus the added noise of the bubble jets. If this annoys you, don't buy the unit! Also, the bubbles will be blowing in room temperature air. An easy way to compensate is to make the bath water extra hot. I used to own a hot tub, and it pulled in room temperature air as well, so the Conair design is not inconsistent with the way that units costing 50 times as much operate! Give it a whirl, if you're not satisfied, save your receipt and Target will refund your money.
