Customer Reviews of Conair MBTS9 Ultimate Thermal Spa Bath Mat with Remote and Massage, ChromeCustomer Review: Loud and tiny, but... Summary: 4 Stars
Having read the reviews on Amazon, I was all psyched to get this and have a crazy-great spa experience in my very own bathtub.
Well, as it turns out, not so much.
First, as others have mentioned, this bath mat is pretty doggone loud - it sounds like a freight train barreling through your bathroom.
It's almost comically small, too - it looks and feels like it was made for someone around 4' tall and 85#.
Still, it's relaxing, it's pleasant, and in my mind, though I certainly would have liked to have paid less for it, it's worth the money.
I can't speak to the ease of getting it in and out of the bathtub as I have sort of permanently installed it in the spare bathroom, and I just leave it there, cleaning it and under it as I clean the tub, but I think that's in part because it doesn't strike me as being terribly easy to remove and store.
This mat is nothing fancy and basically just makes lots of roiling bubbles in your bathtub. I haven't noticed it cooling or otherwise affecting the temperature of the water, but it sure helps distribute the water when you add bath products or when you run additional hot or cold water to the tub in an effort to adjust the temperature.
It seemed anticlimactic to me at first, but experience has taught me that it really does make the bath feel much more therapeutic and relaxing.
When my back is killing me, sometimes a hot bath is the only thing that helps, and this mat has made that even more true.
So, I like it. I think it would be more appropriately priced at half of what they're asking for it, but I'm OK with what I paid for it. It helps me. I use it every day, and I'm better off with it than I was without it.
All in all, it's a cool little gadget to have.
Customer Review: I love this item! Summary: 5 Stars
For the price you can not beat this item. I read some of the bad reviews, I have to disagree. I am 5'10" and yes it would be nice if it had a few more inches, but the size of the mat doesn't take away from my enjoyment. I also can't expect a company to cater to my size. At this price they have to make a 'standard' size. This thing is awesome. Even on the low setting it is amazing. The back/neck massage part is a nice perk. The only thing I would say about that is you have to be pressed firmly against the back for the massage action to work, it automatically turns off if you aren't pressed against it. but the spa is wonderful even without the massage. My water stays very hot, but I run it blazing hot to begin with, always have. It truely is just like a small jaccuzi. I used to use a size of the tub spa and this is miles better. You get so much more than you pay for with this machine I feel. I think the noise of the machine is a perk, it tunes out all outside noise and lets you just relax. The foot rollers and nice too. I love it I love it I love it!
Customer Review: SIL & BIL ROCK!! THANK YOU! Summary: 5 Stars
Ok seriously... this is a wonderful product. My hubby came home, saw it and jumped right in. The sucky part is that you need a total of 6 AAA batteries. 2 for the remote and 4 for the back/neck massager.
The bad: The back/neck massager thingy doesn't actually reach up to your neck... maybe we had it in wrong.
The good: EVERYTHING!! Are you kidding me... you end up having a whirlpool in your bathroom. Yes it is noisy, but who cares... spas are just as noisy when it comes to whirlpools. It massages... attempts to keep the water warm. It maintains the temp of the water; so if the water starts to get cold... it can't keep it hot forever. The outside mechanism sits outside of the tub... the remote has a retractable cord with infrared. The remote can also go in the water; it floats! Honestly, my hubby came out refreshed and raving... so we are happy. I am so glad my SIL and BIL purchased for us!! Add some whirpool bath suds and ENJOY!
Customer Review: better than I expected! Summary: 5 Stars
I have MS and sometimes have really terrible back and neck pain. I loved staying at my parent's house because I could use their jacuzzi and it really helped with the pain. My apartment has a bath tub and I thought to my self, "self what could I do to make this better"...and I saw the bath spa on-line. I loved it!!! I figured it would make a few bubbles and help a little but it really was great. It's not a jacuzzi but it really felt wonderful on my neck and shoulders, worth the buy. It's thermal and does keep the bath warmer then it would be on its own, but doesn't heat the tub. It's not something you would leave in the tub all the time, I just waited until it dried, folded it up, and put it in my linen closet. I've never written a review for a product before but had to say something about this. 2 thumbs up!!
Customer Review: Not bad, but not great either Summary: 3 Stars
What I noticed first and foremost, was that the mat is MUCH smaller than it appears in the ads. We have a standard size & shaped tub, and this mat is about six inches short of reaching the end. It's also fairly thin. I'm 5'3", and 120 lbs. I fit on it, but not by much. I doubt a tall person would fit it very well at all. I wanted a mat that would support my head and neck, this is too short to do that. You will absolutely need a bath pillow with this item. With that said -- I otherwise enjoy it. It's much less expensive than a hot tub. The suctions work well (standard smooth tub). It helps my muscles relax, and my two-year old enjoys it. It is loud, but I don't really notice the blower noise over the turbulence of the water and it drowns out the distractions from other rooms.
