I have no idea what all these one star reviews are about. I got this for my daughter for her 9 the birthday and it works awesome. I think the people who said the color wasn't good didn't give the cartidge a chance to warm up. You must put it on the hair and let it turn in one spot for about a minute straight to warm the color up and the trick is to move it down the hair shaft slow to get bright thick chunks of color. My daughter has dark brown hair and this works awesome in her hair, you must let it dry, but it last and lasts! We love this! so much!Customer Review: Don't waste your money!

The only color that even shows up is blue(not very well), and red (a very strange red). I couldn't even see the other colors on any hair color, worst of all I ordered the refill pack the same day I ordered the kit. The neighborhood kids had fun the first day but since then it hasn't been touched. What a waste of money. The commercial is so fake because it doesn't even turn out the way they make it look, it has the feel of that stuff you get on Halloween to spray colors in your hair. I don't know how they can legally show that fake commercial!Customer Review: Not as easy as implied!

I bought two of these last x-mas for my younger sisters (they are 12 and 14) and both of them got frustrated with them. My one sis got it to work but couldnt get all the color, it would only do part of her hair and she complained not enough color choices came with it for a teen, too many "normal" colors. My other sis managed to get her hair tangled and said it hurt, and never got it to work right. If you are willing to do it for them, this is a good item, and mostly when it "doesnt work" is because it is too complicated to do by yourself.Customer Review: New advice! Must read!

I have very very dark brown hair, sorta almost black hair, and I purchased this today. I used the advice of scraping a little off to help transfer colors, and it worked great. I also followed the advice of going slowly, but I went way to slowly and my hair was stiff, because I was getting way too much color, then I went faster (but not too fast) and It looked like real salon highlights, if you don't get enough the first try, go over it!
Infinate thumbs up to Conair once again. P.S What is YOUR fave conair product?

I was very skeptical when I purchased this item because it seems like half the things they sell on TV never work the way they are supposed to. But my daughter wanted it for her birthday so I thought, why not? Surprise! It worked awesome!! I don't understand the complaints here because it did a fantastic job for us from the first time we tried it. I have black hair and my daughter has light golden brown hair and the colors showed up just fine on both of us.
Well worth the money and lots of fun to play around with!
