Customer Reviews of Conair SU7 Sound Therapy and Relaxation Clock RadioCustomer Review: Love it Summary: 5 StarsI love this thing, the sounds make me sleep so well at night. The water sound kinda makes you have to go potty though.
Customer Review: Has definite pros and cons Summary: 3 StarsMy hubby purchased this for me this Christmas at my request, This unit defintely has it's pros and cons, most of which I read in other reviews here on Amazon.
PROS:
1. Adjustable volume makes it nice to choose how loud you want the sound and/or radio.
2. Great variety of sounds.
3. Dual alarm feature so you can set more than one alarm ahead of time.
4. Digital radio readout so you can actually see what station you are choosing when rolling the dial back and forth.
5. You can choose buzzer, sound, or radio for alarm settings.
CONS:
1. Light is WAYYYYYY too bright, even when set on "dim" setting. Looks like a blue space ship landed in my bedroom.
2. Clock is all but unreadable unless you are looking at it straight on at close range, even on the best contrast setting.
3. Two of the sounds are identical....don't quite know why they have them separated. Maybe mine was programmed wrong??
4. The thunderstorm one, which is the one I really bought it for, is too short of a repeating loop. The pattern is VERY distinctive...2, 2, 2, 1, repeat. I was able to talk myself out of paying attention to this pattern after about 15 minutes, but beware, you WILL pick up on the pattern and it'll drive you nuts unless you can purposely ignore it. You'd think in an age where we can put 16G on a tiny USB drive, that you could put more than 5 seconds of thunderstorm in this big unit.
All in all, I think I like this unit. I plan on throwing a towel over the display, which is seriously ridiculous that I have to do that, but I can't sleep in broad blue daylight! The clock is useless anyway except for waking you up with the alarm, so the towel won't matter much. Long story short, good buy for the product as long as you can live with the downsides. I bought my daughter the HoMedics SS-2000 Sound Spa Relaxation Sound Machine with 6 Nature Sounds, which does not have a clock, so maybe I'll try hers out and see if it does any better for me.
Customer Review: good as a noise maker Summary: 2 StarsThis clock/radio sound relaxer is fine for a nice white noise or other noise options. I sleep very well with the tone. It sounds just like there's a fan blowing, or the setting of water flowing is very relaxing too. However, as a timepiece I find it worthless. I can't even read the clock because of the weird indigo color. Great as a soothing noise machine though, and not as expensive. It's worth the price for the sound quality alone.
Customer Review: Noise machine and radio, too. Summary: 4 StarsWe had been using a big window fan as our sleeping "noise machine". This clock/radio is a big improvement. At least two of the programmed sounds, rainfall and stream, are soothing and adequately steady. Can hear sounds that we need to hear but not small distracting ones in the house, like cats and dogs tiptoeing about. And, can actually hear FM radio! We live in area between hills where radio reception is no good but it seems this little contraption is actually an asset. So far, very pleased.
Customer Review: Ridiculous sounds! Summary: 1 StarsJust ordered this and returned it the next day! The sounds are completely ridiculous. I can't believe anyone would actually feel this is worth the money even though it's a less expensive model then some others. There wasn't one except the basic white noise setting that we thought was okay to sleep with. The heartbeat is just weird, not womb sound like most baby heartbeats are. The ocean waves sounds like enormous waves crashing, light to very, very loud sound. The one we have for our 1st born is great but no longer made. Just ordered a Marpac and hoping we will be happy with that option.
