Don't waste your money on this product. I bought it because I liked the price and didn't want to spend the money on a Waterpik. Bottom line: This machine is not worth the money you save!
Why I don't like this machine:
--It is incredibly noisy.
--The pressure dial is difficult to turn, requiring you to hold the base with one hand while you turn the knob with the other. If there is an area of your mouth that is more sensitive, it's impossible to turn down the pressure with one hand while still using the machine.
--The attachments are mostly worthless. The rubber-tipped irrigator is so soft that it tore after a few uses. The tongue scraper is a complete joke. The water jet shoots over the back of the scraper blade, perfectly hitting the gag center in the back of the throat. I still haven't figured out the usefulness of the brush attachment.
--My main complaint with this product, and the reason I returned it, is that this machine is not powerful enough to be effective. The very first time I used it, I was able to put it on full power without any discomfort at all. I would say that full power on this unit is about equivalent to half power on the Waterpik unit. I quit using the Conair machine a few weeks after I bought it because I felt that I was wasting my time every night using it.
Things I liked about this unit:
--The reservoir was easy to fill.
--The machine is small enough to fit in the counter under the sink (although it's still not as compact as the Waterpik that I ended up buying to replace it).
Bottom line:
If you are looking for a way improve oral hygiene, I don't think this product is powerful enough to effect a noticeable change. After returning this product, I paid the extra money for a Waterpik WP-100 Ultra Dental Water Jet, and I have been very happy with it.
