Customer Reviews of Core Products * Tri-core Cervical Pillow - StandardCustomer Review: This pillow has been a god send. Summary: 5 Stars
I first bought this pillow about two years ago from my chiropractor, when I lived in a different state. I just searched Amazon to buy a second one to keep at friend's house. One night without it, and I'm miserable--so much neck pain radiating up to my forehead. I can't wait to get my neck adjusted. As I read the other reviews, I vaguely remembered that I had a habituation period with this pillow. It took time to learn to sleep while lying on my back. (I also lie on my side, but I try to mostly lie on my back.) It also took time to get used to the cervical/neck support, which I now can't go without. When lying on my back, I prefer the lower side. When side lying, I flip the pillow over for the higher side. I highly recommend this pillow for anyone who feels like they need to see the chiropractor every morning when they wake up. As an aside, I've also found that 1/2 cup of raw pepitos/pumkin seeds per day really helps my muscles relax, and I make fewer trips to the chiropractor.
Customer Review: Very hard pillow around the edges--caused neck pain! Summary: 1 Stars
As I'm getting a bit older, I'm finding that I sometimes wake up with neck pain from the angle I sleep on our Select Comfort bed. Let me say right off the bat I'm even suspect that the bed may be part of the problem.
Living in remote Alaska, I bought two pillows, one soft and one hard, without trying them out. The first couple nights I received some relief from the pillow, but as I tried to break it in, I found the sides, top and bottom of the pillow very hard. And this was the 'soft' one! It's almost like trying to sleep on the arm of a chair, it's that hard.
Silly me, while trying it out, I took off the plastic. That immediately voided my return policy. Now we have two of these and the best I can do is wrap them in plastic and send them to charity.
Don't buy these pillows, they don't work. I originally tried a Tempurpedic pillow at my in-laws that worked very well. I'm going to buy one of those and write these two pillows off as a loss.
Customer Review: Chiropractor's Thoughts Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a chiropractor and I sell this in my office. I sell it because I began personally using it and it was hands down the best pillow I've ever had. I read the reviews about too big, too hard, etc. There is a period which you have to go through to get your neck use to the pillow. Chiropractic adjustments will help during this period. I recommend, if the pillow hurts or seems too big, begin with a rolled up towel, gradually increasing the size of the roll until your neck adapts to the reintroduction of your cervical curve. Note this pillow has a roll of different diameter on opposite sides. If it doesn't feel like enough support, simply flip over to the larger roll. My neck seems to change on a day to day basis. Sometimes the small roll does not have enough support, and sometimes the large roll seems like too much. I also recommend the gentle over the standard. The petite core are better for children. Even women and small adults should be able to use the standard size.
Customer Review: I love this pillow! Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried too many ergonomic pillows to list and this is finally the right one for me. I have had muscular tension in my neck for decades. I've been using a memory foam pillow for the last couple of years while seeing a chiropractor regularly. Recently I decided to try a new pillow that offered better support for my neck. After some research I ordered the Tri-Core to try for a while. It took me only one night to get accustomed to the unique shape. I was able to quickly find a comfortable spot lying on either side and there's no beating how this feals when lying on my back! I've now had it for 2.5 weeks and I don't know how I slept without it for so long! I'm getting full nights of restful sleep and wake without any neck/shoulder discomfort at all (which is a miracle). I would strongly recommend this pillow for anyone who suffers from chronic neck discomfort - it's the best I've found!
Customer Review: Gentle Support -Orthopedic Pillow By Chattanooga Summary: 5 Stars
Five years ago my C4 vertebrae was fractured and collapsed, had a C3-C5 cervical fusion and now have plates, wires, and screws anterior and posterior in my neck for life. Needless to say I've tried just about every pillow that will give me proper cervical support. I would recommend this pillow but it does take some time to get accustomed and you have to follow the instructions. I'm a side sleeper and for proper support you really need to sleep on either end (learned this the hard way). If you sleep on your back then use the center. Sometimes I lay on my back with this pillow and can actually hear my neck aligning. I've had this product for about 2 weeks and wake up with no headache, neck or shoulder pain, YAY! I still have to put a pillow underneath this one when sleeping because it's to low for me but it does work. Thanks to the chiropractor who submitted his review.
