Customer Reviews of Coromega Omega-3 Supplement, Orange Flavor, Squeeze Packets, 90-Count BoxCustomer Review: Great taste, but not enough DHA for me Summary: 3 Stars
I bought the 90-pack orange flavor last week and started taking them immediately (gotta love Amazon Prime 2-day shipping!) This supplement tastes GREAT and not fishy at all! It does have a very slight aftertaste (I usually chase it with a beverage anyway.)
Well, today (March 11, 2011) I ran across something Dr. Oz published about Omega 3 fatty acids. He says you should aim for 600 mg of DHA daily. This supplement only has 230 mg of DHA and 350 of EPA. Now, depending on your needs, that may be enough of both fatty acids. But, considering I rarely eat fish of any kind (I also have a Lap Band, so I can only do liquid supplements), I need a supplement with as close to 600 mg as possible per serving. So, after hours of research, today I bought Barlean's Fresh Catch Fish Oil. It has 550 mg of DHA and 850 mg of EPA. I'll get it Tuesday, so I'll be writing a review for that later on...LOL. Meanwhile, I'll finish this box, but I'll have to take 3 packets a day to get to 600 mg. Thank goodness they taste good...LOLOLOL

Customer Review: Great fish oil, no fishy taste Summary: 5 Stars
My doctor, like many, has suggested that I take 1000 mg of fish oil daily. I've tried. Oh, I've tried. But each time I tried gave me the dreaded fish burbs. Ugh. I changed brands. I froze my capsules. I took antacid. I did everything, but I could never get in the habit of taking fish oil because the side effects were pleasant. (And when the fish oil lives in the freezer, it's out of sight, out of mind.) Then I sent away for a sample of orange-flavored Coromega. It arrived, and I stared at it for a few days. It said I could mix it with yogurt (didn't have any plain yogurt) or stir it into a glass of orange juice (which I don't drink). Or, it said, I could eat it straight from the packet. I was wary, but finally I ate it straight. And I braced myself for the dreaded fish burbs. But they never came! In fact, it tasted good enough that I actually thought, "Wow...I'd have seconds of that." I immediately started comparison shopping for it online, and I discovered that buying a 90-day supply from Amazon on autoship is the best deal around. Now, I'm proud to say that I'm a faithful fish-oil user. This is the longest sustained period in which I've taken fish-oil supplements, and it's all thanks to Coromega.
Customer Review: not that great Summary: 3 Stars
Coromega has a great attempt at trying to deliver a "different" omega 3 type supplement. What you get for the price is 100% worth it. However I find the taste less than pleasant. You can still taste the fish oil despite their attempt to disguise it with the orange flavor. I'm not a fan of mixing it with other drinks or smoothies of any sort and rather just take it straight from the packet.
Although they tell you to rip the top of the packet open there is no telling what will happen whether it will rip wrong or splatter all over your hand. Therefore to reliably open it everytime you'll need to use scissors.
If you decide to suck on the packet directly be careful because the edges will have a tendency to cut your lip because they are rather sharp.
The taste just isn't that great to me at least, apparently other people enjoy it. Ultimately I find that these aren't any better than just taking some other supplements because the flavor doesn't motivate me to take them and if you don't enjoy taking them then there is no point in buying them. I found some "lemon gummy" omega 3 supplements which taste great so I'll be getting them over these.
Customer Review: Tasty! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been taking Omega 3 Fish oil for several years for angina and arthritis. I have done a lot of research (read Dr. Barry Sears, Dr. Andrew Stoll) about various products and have bought very expensive products in the past.
I have greatly benefited from the EPA. I don't have hip pain when I sleep, although I still have pain when I walk (because I don't take enough fish oil) and I no longer have angina pain. My nephew who is hyperactive has also taken fish oil (omegabrite) and is not on Ritalin any longer. He and I are both walking miracles.
If you go to the Coromega site, they will send you a free sample of this product. I got it in the mail about 5 days ago and took it today for the first time. It is the best tasting fish oil I've ever had and I'm ordering more today. It doesn't have the percentage of EPA to DHA I prefer but, and this is important, I won't dread taking it, I can carry it in my purse so that I don't forget to take it and it is't messy.
If you have an egg allergy don't buy this. Go to the coromega site and research this first, but the price on Amazon is very good especially as I buy more then $25.00 and get free scipping.
Customer Review: Would not recommend Summary: 3 Stars
Though this product has a great innovative idea.. (why didn't anyone think of doing this before???) I still think it falls short of any real benefits. The label reads:
Supplement Facts
Serving Size: 1 Packet
Servings Per Container:
Ingredient Amount Per Serving % Daily Value
Calories Total 20
from Fat 20
Total Fat 2 g 3%
Saturated Fat 0.5 g 3%

Vitamin E 3 IU 10%

EPA 350 mg
DHA 230 mg*
Stevia Leaf Extract 10 mg*
It has Almost twice as much EPA as Kirklands Omega 3 and much less DHA. DHA is the main reason you want to take Omega 3 in the first place! I still will stick with Neurovi Omega 3 since it is affordable, and has only 35 mg of EPA. This product can not even compare in quality. You are much better off buying Kirklands but if you want the best of the best buy Neurovi. They also offer a coupon code for 12% off by using "gift of health" if you order through their website neurovi, com.
