Cosamin DS Joint Health Supplement, Capsules, 210-Count Bottle
When I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee a couple of years ago, the Dr found that I was down to bone on bone. I had very bad arthritis in that joint and he recommended this brand of Glucosamine. I have been pretty good about taking it faithfully and I am able to do most activities painfree. My exercise is restricted because of other damage to the knee so to be fair it is comprised of activities like bowling, bicycling, low impact aerobics and weights. I was particularly pleased to find the program where the supplements will be sent out on a regular basis so that I don't have to worry about reordering. Plus, the price is one of the best I have found.

I cannot recommend this product more highly! Two orthopedic surgeons and my dog's vet all recommended specifically this brand of glucosamine. The vet even did her own MRI studies on dogs with this brand versus others and found better results with Cosamin than grocery store brands (dogs don't benefit from the placebo effect).
The packaging and my doctors all recommended taking a larger dose the first few months and then tapering it down, but I've found that anything less than 3 a day leaves me sore within a couple of weeks. I do a lot of trail and hill running here in Colorado, so I probably do more damage than the average person.
Cosamin costs a little more, especially at higher doses, but it is 100% worth it. I've tried 8 different brands and this is by far the best for me.

I received and began taking the Cosamin DS on Friday and could feel improvement before the next morning. I am a 47 year old female, high school teacher and have arthritis in my knees. I get around fine although co-workers will sometimes mention that I'm limping. At night however, my knees are really stiff when I'm trying to sleep and cause a great deal of pain when I stretch them out. I realized though that when I woke up Saturday morning, after taking the Cosamin DS only the day before, that I had not experienced that usual pain at night. Although I've only been taking it 4 days I have been pain-free each night. I'm looking forward to continued improvement. If progress should decrease I will post this as well. I at this point am recommending to friends and family that have joint pain.Customer Review: A lifesaver

Is it too much to call this product a lifesaver? I don't think so because it has kept me mobile for over ten years and counting. My husband and I have tried other products and within days we know it isn't working. If we go off the load dose (3 per day) we can feel the pain. I have worn joints all over my body from a heredity disease and by taking the Cosamin I have been able to put of knee, shoulder and hip surgery for many years.
On the recommendation of a doctor at the Mayo Clinic my husband started taking the product because he had arthitis build up in his neck after surgery. He too has been able to forego new surgery from taking the capsules.
There are other products outthere proclaiming to do what this one does but from our experience, they don't.
Customer Review: Pricey - But well worth it if it works for you.

The major complaint for this product is that it is pricey. You need to start taking three capsules a day for one or two months and then you can drop down to two a day. Depending on where you get them (Costco has a better deal) they are about 25 to 30 cents each. The reason you want to try this product is that the ingredients are of a very high quality. If glucosamine-chondroitin is going to work for you, and it doesn't work for everyone, then you should try this one first. It it works, then you can try the cheaper ones. The problem with all food supplements is that their quality is not regulated by the FDA, so you never really know what you are getting. Cosamin DS at least has been peer reviewed and has multiple professional recommendations. Try this one first.
