I've been using this one for about a month now and it seems to be as efficient as it is cute. However, it has one rather significant disadvantage - the water container (specifically cow's head) absolutely cannot be cleaned. My attempts to use Clorox in order to get read of organic residue and algae that tend to accumulate on the walls with a frightening speed had gone in vain. The entrance port, on the other hand, is a way too narrow for a hand to reach, and will not allow to use a standard brush neither. It's, indeed, one of the most adorable models on the market, and definitely does a job for the money, but I'm not sure how much one can benefit from a device that while raising the overall humidity on the premises starts shooting mushrooms in the air two days after it was purchased.Customer Review: Works well and easy to use

I bought the Crane Adorable 1 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier after purchasing a super expensive Germ Guardian humidifier. I bought the Germ Guardian humidifier first because it had hot and cold mist, a big resevoir and all kinds of features. However, it leaked all over, was difficult to fill and broke within the week. Down about $200, I decided to try the Crane humidifier which was in the $30ish range. I'm so glad I did. The humidifier works well and will mist through the whole night with only a half tank of water. It's easy to fill (remove the cow face, lift off the water resevoir fill it and replace on the base.) I had to fill the Germ Guardian humidifier in the kitchen sink but this one fits under the bathroom faucet to fill. I did extensive research before I settled to buy this amazing humidifier and I was happy about my decision. This is a wonderfully quite machine and sprays a fine spray of mist all night long and has helped my family a lot from effects of dehydration due to high heat during the night. The feature of an automatic cut-off when it runs out of water also makes me sleep more peacefully. It has multiple humidity settings which vary from 5 to 100% (though not marked on the apparatus). The water mist doesnt collect on the floor, if you keep on a slightly high table from the ground. It's easy to clean but slightly cumbersome to fill-up, but then how easy is it to make something totally PERFECT. I would definitely give 5 stars for this wonderful inexpensive Humidifier.Customer Review: Hard to hold the water container, breaks easily

I have large hands, I usually have a hard time finding gloves that fit, and I am quite dextrous too. Having said that, I had a really hard time handling the water container of the cow shaped humidifier. It has a handle, but you can only use it when the container is empty. And, when you fill it with water, you have wrap your hands around upside down the half dome. Well after barely 1 week of use, one night the *empty* container slipped from my hands, and cracked.
Good luck holding on to yours if you get the cow humidifier.
We also got the hello kitty for the other room, that one is somewhat easier to handle.

I can only say good things about the Crane Cow Humidifier. It is virtually silent when you sleep, it only makes a few bubbling sounds as water fills from the head of the cow to the basin, and the design is adorable. The mist is cool and comes out of the ears, which is why I chose it in the first place, for the design. It is easy to fill, the head removes and you fill it in the sink. I have seen some reviews that say you need a towel and can expect lots of spills when refilling, but I have not found that to be true. The basin does get slimey from the sitting water, but that is to be expected as it does in all humidifiers. I absolutely recommend this product to anyone as it is easy to care for, and is an absolutely genius design.
