Customer Reviews of CytoSport Muscle Milk, Chocolate, 2.47 PoundCustomer Review: Muscle Milk: pretty sweet stuff Summary: 4 Stars
This is the first time i've ever really worked out consistently, 4 times a week, and i've noticed some changes to my body. I drink the muscle milk after every workout, but but i'm a little wary of the fat content: 40% saturated daily value. I was taking this hoping to help me lose a little weight (lose a little fat like it advertises) but i've stayed the exact same weight since i've started using it about three weeks ago. I'm well aware that it probably takes some time for my body to change, so i going to continue to use it until it runs out. The changes i've noticed are my arms and shoulders are larger, but i would expect that from all the lifting. I can't say that i've made a dent in my paunch, however. I'm a college student, and in my dorm i don't have a blender or milk or anything like that--but with muscle milk, all you have to do is shake it in water and it mixes easily. I'm very impressed with the taste and the ease of use. Many other people have recommented this product, and I agree with them.
Customer Review: Consumer reports July 2010 Summary: 1 Stars
I threw mine out after reading this article in consumer reports. It may have been an isolated sample but its not worth the risk IMO
The samples of Muscle Milk Chocolate powder we tested contained all four heavy metals, and levels of three metals in the product were among the highest of all in our tests. Average cadmium levels of 5.6 µg in three daily servings slightly exceeded the USP limit of 5 µg per day, and the average lead level of 13.5 µg also topped the USP limit of 10 µg per day. The average arsenic level of 12.2 µg was approaching the USP limit of 15 µg per day, and the average for mercury was 0.7 µg, well below the USP's 15 µg-per-day limit. Three daily servings of Muscle Milk Vanilla Crème contained 12.2 µg of lead, exceeding lead limits, and 11.2 µg of arsenic. A fourth product, Muscle Milk Nutritional Shake Chocolate (liquid), provided an average of 14.3 µg of arsenic per day from three servings, approaching the proposed USP limit.
Customer Review: best protein shake out there Summary: 5 Stars
Muscle Milk is by far the best protein shake available. The taste good, don't mess you up if you're lactose intolerant, and they help with muscle building and recovery. I rarely use them before+after+before sleep. Usually just before and sometimes after and I get good results.
LIGHT is good for losing weight or not gaining any weight for lean muscle. REGULAR is a balance of not gaining much fat and getting a little bigger. MONSTER is my favorite because it is good for building mass. It's mostly higher doses of the protein, but Monster Mass has Amino Acids which help in recovery (most important stage in muscle building). I used to add Glutamine supplement to the end of my workout but now the Monster Mass has it included with other Amino Acids.
I prefer shakes over the bars and Muscle Milk is the one to get. Plus it mixes better than most proteins. Plus the ready to drink are great for when you are in a rush!
Customer Review: Believe the HYPE! Summary: 5 Stars
Ok, I admit I'm a bit of a sceptic when it comes to "glowing" reviews on particular products, so i was hesitant in purchasing Muscle milk. I decided to get the smaller tub (2 lb) and try it out before shelling out more money for the large one. It has now been 3 weeks and I am very impressed with the results. I notice quicker recovery time after my work-outs, by that I mean my muscles are not so sore and they look and feel leaner. Instead of 2 scoops I only use one and add about 14-16 ounces of skim milk along with about 5 cubes of ice and shake it up with a blender bottle and voila- instant milkshake! What really impresses me about the product is the taste, it really does taste like a creamy chocolate milkshake. It taste so good that i look forward to it every time i finish a workout.
I am going to try other flavors recommended by other reviewers, but for now I am very happy and impressed by this product.
Customer Review: Outstanding Product -- Tastes Great! Summary: 5 Stars
I had been drinking Cytosport's premade, 11oz Muscle Milk (Chocolate Milk flavor), for months and I decided to give the Chocolate (NOT Chocolate Milk, like the bottled kind I had been drinking) a try. Well the Chocolate powder tastes even better than the premixed Chocolate Milk flavor. I've burned through a 2.47 bottle in about a week, drinking sometimes three glasses/servings a day. I use Muscle Milk as a meal replacement and/or snack, and it really satisfies me. Zero lactose means (for me) no gas (of course, I mix it with water, versus milk). I really cannot say enough about this product: the taste is delicious; it mixes up well (not really clumpy like some other protein mixes, but do stir it well); and I feel really good after drinking it (satisfied, and not bloated). In fact, I just purchased three more 2.47 lb bottles (2 Chocolate, and 1 Vanilla Creme -- which I have never tried before). I highly recommend it.
