We were looking for something that would give us the feeling of being steady entering and exiting the bath tub/shower. We tried several times to get this bar to adhere for longer than 20 minutes, but to no avail. The positioning of the suctioned ends JUST fit our 4 1/2" smooth ceramic tiles, and it really seemed to have some great suction power. We had premeasured our tiles before ordering. One time we tested it's stickability, the bar fell off the wall after 20 minutes, fell onto our hot water bath handle and turned the water on full-force. It was a good thing we hadn't left the house! We would have had a flood and one heck of a water bill!! If you do purchase one of these and it does stick for you, do yourself a favor and do NOT place the grip bar over your shower handles if they happen to be the 4" long handles. Amazon was great at taking our return, but it cost us over $6 to find out this bar didn't work for us....which is disappointing.
