I bought this mouth guard kit for my GF. She is a small woman and the small mouth guard worked better. We had to boil it twice to get a good fit. It works really well for the price. This is a way better option than the 400$ ones the dentist try to make you buy. She grind ed her teeth every night and kept waking me up. Now with this product no more girding and it works great. You have to make sure when your boil the guard to adjust it for your mouth. You SHOULD NOT bit down real hard. Bit down lightly as long as your teeth fit comfortably and the guard does not fall off when you open your mouth. Use your fingers to push down the guard to adjust it for your teeth. I've worn mouthguards for a long time. I've had custom made high dollar items from a dentist and I've used cheap sport guards as well.
This unit comes with 2 guards and neither of them fit me very well. The large size is gigantic and the small one is, well, small.
I may reboil and try refitting but I don't think that will help. The molding seam on the mouth guard can feel sharp on the tongue and should probably be trimmed off.
It's better than grinding my teeth but the soft squishy feel of it actually seems to make me chomp more at night.
I'll wear it for now until I can get back to the Dentist for a custom fit guard.

The kit comes with two separate mouth guards and depending on your mouth size, you choose which one works best for you... Because it is not custom made for your mouth its not going to be a perfect fit, but it does the job... Sure, its not perfectly comfortable, I guess I didn't expect it to be anyway because it is a piece of plastic in your mouth, but it is not that bad. You do get used to it with time. Honestly, it has helped me from hurting my teeth while I sleep... the tooth pain that I had to endure from clenching my jaw at night was so bad that Im thankful that I was able to find this and not have to pay a much higher price for a custom made one.Customer Review: magic

I ordered this product because I have TMJ and for as long as I can remember have been having painful aching in my jaw and sometimes couldnt open my mouth in the morning. This often resulted in headaches. The mold is simple to cast and after only a few nights, I had no more pain. It seems to have permanently helped also. I stopped using it for a while (because having things in my mouth bothers me and the guard is pretty large) but the pain has not occurred since. Magic? I dont know, but I would definitely consider that another "plus." I would recommend this product for anybody who suffers from TMJ. The Dental Hygiene Night Mouth Guard Kit that I ordered was exactly what it said it was, and I was able to use it to my advantage. Though I do not suffer from normal TMJ, I did have a problem with my jaw. My right rotator cuff is torn beyond repair, which caused me to hold my shoulder in an abnormal position, which, in turn, caused deviation and acute pain in my jaw. I have full dentures, which I normally don't sleep in, but due to the problem with my shoulder and jaw, I was able to use the night guard to keep my jaws from closing too far during the night. I know this was not the intended purpose, but it worked very well.
