These blades may be fine for some people, but with safety razors you need to try a few different blades to find the right one. I made the mistake of buying these when I bought my safety razor and the shave was not the best for me. I had a 5 O-clock shadow by noon each day and the blades just dragged across my face hardly cutting the hair with a new blade. I bought a sample pack of different blades and found the Feathers blades worked best on my face. Again these may be the best for you, but before buying one brand in bulk you should buy a sample pack to find the right blade for your face.Customer Review: Good for normal beards that aren't very tough

This is good for people with sensitive skin or those that don't have tough beards. My facial hair is very tough, especially around the chin, and this thing tugged and pulled a bit. My facial hair is the type that has to be shave everyday since it grows very quickly. This blade will be very good for people who don't have tough beards. For them, it is mild and so it will give you a close effective shave without much irritation and less chance of cuts or degree of the cut if you make mistakes in your techniques. These are infinitely better than the 7AM blades that came with my razor. I haven't tried any other than these two, but I'm pretty pleased with them. I get at least two good shaves per blade. Considering I was getting half of a good shave with the Mach 3 I'm quite happy. And at this price, you cannot go wrong.
If you can find a variety pack to find which blades work best for you, and these are included, definitely go for it. If you just want some blades that you know will be good, Derby is not gonna disappoint.

I, like many others, have purchased a Merkur DE Razor. I bought the Derby blades to compare to Feather and the Merkur blade supplied with my razor. Of the three, I felt this had the most pull/ least cut feel of them all.
Yes the price is right, but if you have a tough beard buy the Feather blades.
I am updating my review. I have upgraded them to 3stars for the price/cut. I needed to use more pressure than I was used to with the Feather blades. Still, the Feather are much sharper.

I've tried many DE blades and I been using these quite a bit lately, tho not the sharpest they do hold a edge for several shaves, I get maybe 3 good shaves out of them and usually squeak another one out of it but its rough. I would prefer Feathers, Personas, Wilkinson Swords or Lords over these. These seem to compare to Dorcos and not as sharp as Astras but last longer. They are a good all around blade for the beginner.
