Customer Review: One of the very few soap brands that I can use
Summary: 5 Stars

Many, many years ago, I developed a mild allergy to perfumes and fragrances - long story. Ever since, I had to say goodbye to all of them wonderful, moisturizing, deodorant, skin-conditioning, lathery soaps. It's been Pure & Natural or Basic for me when it comes to soap and unscented baby powder when it comes to deodorants. I occasionally use Johnson & Johnson bars but they tend to be a bit more expensive. And, you know what? I feel much cleaner, more comfortable, fresher than 'before' Pure & Natural and, after more than 10 years of daily and almost-exclusive use I am unaware of any unwanted side-effects.

What you get with Pure & Natural is an honest, inexpensive soap that keeps your skin honestly clean and healthy. Or so is my experience.

Piece of advice - I'd check with my local supermarket before placing an order here. Hopefully, one day, this item will be available under the super-saver program.

Note: the alternative to P&N is Dial Basics Hypoallergenic Bar Soap 3.5 Oz - 3 Pack. As far as I can tell, it's the exact same soap, only packaged as a cheaper brand I am unaware of any difference other than the brand name.

Customer Review: This is NOT the original Pure & Natural
Summary: 1 Stars

The 're-packaged' soap they are selling is NOT the same as the original Pure & Natural that was sold before. The major selling point was that the original contained no perfumes or additives, thus the name. This one comes in a plain green wrapper packed 3 to a pack wrapped in cello. The ingredient label on this product I just purchased (06/2009) lists - glycerin, sorbitol, sodium chloride, fragrance, alow barbadensis leaf juice, pentasodium pentatate, tetrasodium etidronate, and titanium dioxide. I don't understand how they can legally pass this off as the original since it obviously isn't.

This soap has a very strong female perfume smell to it, definitely something men would want to avoid also.

Customer Review: Pure and Natural bar soap
Summary: 5 Stars

Pure and Natural is a hypoallergenic soap I have used for years. It has very little scent which disappears a day or so after the bar is opened, and is a great soap. When it disappeared from the market I tried other soaps, but most seemed to be highly scented. (So many soap and cosmetic manufacturers seem to think that all customers want highly perfumed items. I don't. They mostly make me sneeze, clog up my sinuses, and clash with my perfume when I wear it.) I searched on line and found a source for Pure and Natural. I'm happy, my husband's happy.

If you want a gentle and kind to your skin soap, you'll like Pure and Natural bar soap.

Customer Review: THE BEST SOAP EVER!
Summary: 5 Stars

DIAL DEODORANT BAR SOAPS - Pure & Natural Bar Soap, 4.5 oz, 12 packThis soap, and the regular Dial Pure & Natural Soap can no longer be found in my area. I have used the regular for years & years...it is the only soap my skin can tolerate...all others cause blemishes on my skin. I am desperate to find this product. Whatever possessed Dial to remove it from grocery and drugstores shelves?

Customer Review: It's been replaced by "Basics"
Summary: 5 Stars

Yes, the "Pure and Natural" was replaced by "Basics". Same soap, different name. Wal-Mart used to sell it, but now they don't. I just found it at the Dollar Tree store for about the same price, but who knows how long that's going to last. Looks like Dial may be getting rid of it all together. You can get "Basics" by the case for much cheaper than this item if you search for it on the net. I just found a case of 72 bars for $38!
