then nursing home that I work at uses these and I absolutely hate this thing so much that I have went to the lengths of spending my own money for the silent knight pill crusher. you use paper cups one to put the meds in and one to cover them and you crush. by the time you get the pills crushed enough for your patients they have either compacted to the very bottom of the paper cups or cut through them putting wholes in them. Powder from the pills also comes up in the air and gets all over the med cart. This is the CHEAP alternative though, but your nurses will hate you for this purchase of this product.
to me it's a waste of time for the nurses to use this. by the time you spend crushing these meds spending extra time to crush them than you could with a little 5 dollar crusher that's plastic at walmart is pathetic. and like I said this thing doesn't crush like it advertises!
