I've suffered from IBS since I was a child (over 40 years now). Back then it was called a `nervous stomach'. For me, a typical IBS episode would be something like this: Out of the blue I'd have a nasty cramping attack. Then within about 20 minutes I'd have to go to the bathroom resulting in diarrhea. Over the next couple of hours I'd repeat this cycle 2 or 3 more times.
In the best of times, I'd have an attack maybe once or twice a month. During the worst period (about 5 years ago), I was having attacks 2 to 3 times a week. My IBS is definitely stressed related and can also be triggered by diet (i.e. sodas, which I gave up 5 years ago, ice cream, and greasy, fried foods).
I've been using this product for a year now and haven't had a single IBS attack. Currently, I am going though probably the most intense stress of my life and yet no IBS incidents. Even when I've splurge on my trigger foods, it has not induced an attack. I never expected it to work this well, but I'm certainly glad it has. The one drawback is I may no longer be able to use my IBS as an excuse for not taking my wife to Europe.

I went through a lot of different "home treatments" and nothing seemed to really work for my IBS-D. I began taking this about 10 months ago, and although I was doing better, I still had episodes about three-four times a month. I went to see a doctor about six months ago who recommended adding Metamucil (or some type of fiber) to the mix. I really didn't think it would help -- after all, I wasn't exactly having trouble going, the frequency and pain associated with it were the problem. Anyway, I bought the Metamucil capsules (not the chewable ones, the pills) and started taking two of those with the Digestive Advantage every day. Somehow the combination of the two has worked wonders for me. I went several months without having any kind of diarrhea, and in the six months I've been using this combo of medications, I have probably only had diarrhea two or three times. Basically, it's happened so little I don't even really remember when I have it. For lack of a better way to describe this, I think it has "cured" my IBS-D. If this has worked for me, maybe it will work for others.Customer Review: It's amazing how well it works!

I've been having a lot of digestive issues for the past several years and nothing seemed to help: Diet changes, other medicines, changing my habits, etc. I was limiting my foods to such a degree that I couldn't really try anything new and even a lot of my old standby favorites were causing me discomfort. One of my co-workers was talking about his girlfriend having been diagnosed with IBS and while I never got an official diagnosis, her symptoms all sounded EXACTLY like mine. And I'm a woman in my twenties, which puts me directly in the highest risk group for IBS. I did a lot of research and tried lots of different supplements until I found this stuff. Now, every morning, I take one Digestive Advantage: IBS pill and three fiber capsules and I'm set for the day. I have had little to no problem at all in the year or so that I've been taking these. Fearing the placebo effect, I've stopped taking them for a few days from time to time and have noticed that my symptoms come back in full force. These pills works wonders and I would recommend them to anyone who has this problem!Customer Review: I can't believe it really works!

I have suffered with IBS for years now, and nothing has helped significantly, though I have tried numerous treatments, both mainstream and otherswise.
I decided to give this product a try after coming across it on the Internet. It was cheap and safe, so I figured I didn't have much to lose.
I am shocked at the difference I have seen after using it for about 5 weeks, and the improvement was almost immediate.
I have had short periods of improvement in the past, so I am hoping that this will continue. But I have been probably 80% better, consistantly, with not a single really bad day in over a month. Given that a "bad day" was fairly common (at least a couple of days a week), this is very encouraging. Even on good days in the past, I still would have discomfort at various times during the day, but since I've been on Digestive Advantage, I have been able to go through most days without paying any attention to my stomach. I havn't felt this way in years!
So, I encourage anyone with IBS to give this a try.

Some of the other reviewers were disappointed when a miracle hadn't occurred after 5 days, & gave up on it. Hey, I have fought IBS for 20 years; I'm going to give it time to work before I write it off. And to my complete surprise, it did. No more pain, cramping, & paranoid need to know where the closest bathroom will be (if I did dare to go somewhere without taking a dose of Immodium ahead of time.) It is not a cure; it is a CONTROL. As the packaging warns you, if you don't stay with it, the IBS will return within days. Taking the pill every day is a small price to pay for freedom from being "caught" somewhere. I can make plans with complete peace of mind. But you do have to allow the probiotics time to kick in. It took almost 3 weeks for me to notice a change, but after a month, it worked consistently well for me. I signed up for the auto delivery option; I like that IBS no longer rules my life.
