Customer Review: Good product, but could have been better

I currently use Mitchem for Women clear gel and have for more years than I can remember. I perspire heavily, and it has been the only product that can keep me dry. I was interested in trying this product for a change of pace. While the product does a descent job of stopping odor and an OK job of stopping wetness, there are a few things about the product that I do not like. Because of the following reasons, I would not buy this particular product as it is manufactured today.
First and foremost, the scent of the Original Clean formula is overwhelming. I have a sensitive sense of smell, and this product smells like very heavy perfume, almost like profound lilac or like smelling certain powdered laundry detergent out of the box. People with allergies to perfumes need not try this! If you follow directions and apply the product before going to bed, the scent is gone in the morning so it will not interfere with your cologne or perfume, but during the night, the scent is definitely overpowering. An unscented version or a light powder scent would have been nice.
Second, the instructions say that "two clicks" are all that are needed for one application. I found that the product delivered with each click was inconsistent, and at least 3 or 4 clicks was actually necessary. Also, it took dozens of clicks to get the product to emerge on the first application, and I initially thought the tube was defective. the product emerges through a grid work of many tiny holes on top, and not once have all the holes produced an even layer of product. By looking at the photo and comparing it to reality, it looks like they clicked at least 8 times or so to get that much product to emerge - according to the directions, that would be at least 4 applications as shown in the photo.
Third, the consistency of the product was not enjoyable. It is an extremely soft powdery cream that seems to disappear on contact. I had a hard time determining if I used enough for coverage or not. It is a minor point, and I did not encounter any "white out" on my garments, but I religiously applied it at bedtime. All bets are of if you put this on right before dressing. I didn't try it.
The bottom line is that this product kills odor and keeps you pretty dry, although I did notice more occurrences of light underarm moisture with this product than with Mitchem. I wear very loose sleeves so I did not see any wet spots, but someone wearing tighter sleeves or a knit garment might. The rest is a matter of personal preferences. If you like strong floral scents, soft white "whipped cream" deodorant, and can put up with the metered click application, then this might be for you. I'll stick with Mitchem.
