Customer Reviews of Dream Essentials Sweet Dreams Contoured Sleep Mask with Earplugs and Carry Pouch, BlackCustomer Review: Whether small or big face it doesn't work Summary: 1 Stars
English is second language but I will try :)
After reading reviews and especially the one titled "Don't waste your money if you have a small face/nose!", I was encouraged since I have a bigger face. I bought it and was very disappointed.
It's big and bulky and I thought that's a sacrifice to get something that works but there is no way I could hide the light coming from the bottom + the bad design as the eyes' spots actually sit on your forehead and not on your eyes! Well, lets pull it down a little but then we have 2 problems:
1- It's pushing on your nose and that's annoying if you like to breath Oxygen and I do. Although I loosened the strap all the way to the end.
2- The strap will be crossing through the middle of your ears.
If you want to put the strap above your ears - where the glasses settle - then about 75% of the mask will be on your forehead and the bottom of your eyes will be uncovered!? What's the point?
I will be going with a softer and thinner and maybe cheaper one with 2 straps that go above and below the ears they are much better and more comfortable. For now I am covering my head under the blanket and using for ear plugs "Howard Leight Shooter's Earplugs" 30dB which helps a little for my very light sleep.
It sux while carpooling 100 miles to work because this mask does not completely hide the sun and I have to use my hat to cover the rest so I can have a little nap when I am riding and not driving.
Customer Review: Worth Buying Summary: 4 Stars
Hello everyones,
I have used these products for a week, And here is my thought:
The Mask is very comfortable to wear, but the things that go around your head isn't. I have a bad habit of moving my head UP and DOWN when I sleep, and that thingy kind of scratch my ear a little bit. It would be much better if they use different material for that. If you use this on airplane, then it won't be your concern.
About the light leaks in to from the nose, It really depends on your nose shape. I have a wide and short nose, so the light does leak inside JUST a little bit. However, it doesn't effect me that much because if you close your eyes with the mask on, even the light leaked inside, you wouldn't even notice. If your nose is longer than my Asian nose, you probably won't run into this problem.
About the ear plug, it works well. They are desire to block from small middle noise. Small noise can be like people walk by if you sleep on the couch or someone cooking while you're on the living room. Middle noise could be some one slam the front door, or a glass of water falls down and break. Large noise may be construction noise or someone screaming. It's not extremely comfortable to wear. It will take some times to get used to it. And It allows you to roll over or side sleeping.
The Pouch is nice looking, you can use it for a small camera or carry changes around.
Overall, I would highly recommend this product, especially if you want to have a good sleep on the air plane.
Customer Review: Yawn, GOT NO SLEEP!! Summary: 1 Stars
This has got to be the worst blackout sleep mask ever Dream Essentials Sweet Dreams Contoured Sleep Mask with Earplugs and Travel Pouch ~ Black produced! Along with the terrible ear plugs! Lets start with the mask, the most uncomfortable mask I have ever put on, (the complimentary sleep masks given in Hotels are much better!) The thing looks like a Bra for your face, no cushioning around the eyes, I looked like a raccoon when I took it off. If you sleep on your back you are in for a very uncomfortable night! The Velcro strap is thick and the closure on the back can give you a headache, I got one! The straps slide down between your ears and head and cut in viciously, also terrible light leakage around the stiff uncomfortable nose protrusion. Your eyelashes hit the supposed comfort raised eye pieces enough to drive you nuts, very hot mask does not breath at all. The ear plugs smashed together after first use and did not re inflate, and the travel pouch, what a joke, ripped the first time I attempted to pull it close. A BIG waste of money. I never write a bad review but this mask is, well should I say is a piece of *@#! I gave it a try for 2 sleep sessions, guess where it is now? In the trash bag anxiously waiting its departure from my home.
Steal a hotel freebie,,,lol.
Please trust this review, sleep mask is a total waste of today's hard earned money!
Customer Review: This mask is amazing. Summary: 5 Stars
These are amazing eye masks. How much could one say about a pair? It feels silly writing a review of them in the first place. But I must, because they're AWESOME.
Everything I read in reviews prior to my purchase was confirmed to some extent or another:
1) The shape, material, and padding are completely reminiscent of a bra. You're not going out to town with these so appearances are irrelevant. Whats important is that the padding and liner material are super soft and comfy. The eye contours mean there's absolutely no pressure on the eyes.
2) The strap is wide (.75 in), elastic, and secures with velcro. The strip is 2 in. long so you have some adjustment leeway. I tried put my head down with the strap against the pillow to check peoples' complaints about it being too bulky, but I can barely feel it. No discomfort. If you're sensitive, it'd be easy to cut the velcro off and sew the two ends together.
3) The seal around the eyes is very good, but unless you have a very large, bulbous nose, some light may leak through the nose area. If this is an issue, i think gluing some soft foam would solve the problem. It didn't bother me at all.
Yeah, these are pretty much perfect.
Customer Review: DREAM ESSENTIALS SLEEP MASK=EXCELLENT! Summary: 5 Stars
My Dream Essentials Sleep Mask arrived yesterday, and I have already had to use it, because I didn't sleep most of the night last night. I have a lanai that gets a good breeze so I went outside to get comfortable and to use my new mask. Yes, the mask does let in a bit of light around my nose, BUT who cares...my eyelids are closed anyway. I got the black pair, and when I used the mask it was pitch black around my eyes.
The mask comes with ear plugs of which you twist and insert into your ears. You then press a bit on the ear plugs until they unwind a bit (to conform to the inside of your ears).
Back to the mask. I don't know what some reviewers are complaining about with the straps, because I can, only VERY slightly, feel them behind my head, and this is not a bother. My hat size is small, but that doesn't have an effect on their eye coverage. You just pull a bit more of the strap around you head. I hope they are still selling this mask when this one finally wears (not for a long time), because I want to buy another one. I may just go ahead and buy another one now, just to make sure I get the same kind. I love this soft mask!!!
