Customer Review: like a bra for your face

As the title says, it feels like a bra. It's that padded foam material, and like a bra it's shaped and contoured. It sits up off your eyes, which is a nice feather. As many others have noted, a bit of light does creep in around the nose. I don't think it's a huge amount, though, and really it's more of a psychological issue. A bit of light gets it but it's not enough to keep you up, unless you start thinking about it. And, like a dripping faucet, once you start thinking about it you're done.
Anyway, I have a big head and this is big on me, so if you've got a small head you may want to look elsewhere. Also, if you're a side sleeper, this mask doesn't fit tightly and the pillow will push it around on your face.
All that said, it blocks 98% of the light and the way it sits up off your eyes is a nice feature. Well worth the $8.

surprisingly light and comfortable. the contoured shape allows my eyes to be comfortable by not pressing down on them hard. Also the mask is effective and allows very little light to come in. I have been able to sleep perfectly even in the afternoon! Definitely a must if you plan on traveling on international flights.
The mask also comes with a pair of ear plugs, but i haven't had the need for these yet. I also think having noise canceling earphones for long distance trips would be more comfortable and effective.
update: i lost my previous sleep mask during a flight. Bought another one, and still happy with it. These are so much better than the cheap masks the airlines give or the other "padded" ones available because of the contours. These don't apply pressure to your eyes like the other ones do and so you wake up not hurting.

I just bought my second one of these masks. I can't sleep without one because of the plethora of light in my apt in mornings. I've used it every night and its definitely the best mask I've purchased. I love the contours for the eyes so its not pushed up against your eyelids. It also really blocks out the light, nothing can get in, when its still new.
I bought my first one a year ago and about 4 months ago I noticed it really became to stretched out to stay on my head anymore and I noticed the shape of the mask began to flatten. I received my replacement yesterday and comparing them saw how stretched out it had become but hey for the price and for the amount I've used it. Definitely worth it.
I don't have use for the carrying case and the earplugs are standard ones that I wouldn't use more than once or twice.

This eye mask blocks out most light except for a bit by the nose but that is only really noticeable if you're in a room that is fairly bright. The adjustable headstrap is a nice touch but I don't know if it is all that necessary since the strap is already elastic and fits pretty snug without being too constricting.
My biggest problem is it slides around, even when the band is at its tightest and I have a pretty average to large head. I've had other eye masks with the same problem though, probably the slipping is more due to my chaotic sleep style than a design flaw.
I like that this does allow your eyelids to move freely, it makes it feel more like you're not wearing a sleep mask.
This may not be the perfect eye mask but it is the best one I have ever used and it's pretty affordable.

I initially ordered one of the masks, and there was some problem with the delivery. Although USPS tracking said it had been delivered, I never received the item. DreamEssentials contacted me immediately about the problem, were very apologetic and extrememly helpful in not only replacing the original order but helping me to add two more items to the purchase. I changed the shipping to UPS and right on time the order appeared at my door. I cannot thank them enough for all of their kind and extremely helpful service.
The mask is exactly perfect for me and I use it every night. I've used the cheap satin masks and the elastic band alwas seems to stretch and the mask never really screens out all of the light. The DreamEssentials mask is a very well made high quality product and I would recommend it to anyone.
