Drysol is a 20% aluminum chloride solution that when applied consistently, will stop subborn sweating and dry the skin.
The key to success with Drysol is its consistent application. Best results are obtained by applying the solution just before bed. For underarm use, you don't need much. Just put a few drops in each underarm and rub in. Try to confine it to the sweat gland area. A possible side-effect is excessively dry skin, which may become red and painful. If this happens, back off the Drysol for a few days until the irritation and redness dissapate. A regular over the counter antiperspirant can be used on "off-days".
Drysol works well on the sole of the feet and palms of the hands. Again, consistent application at night is the key. Once the sweating stops, it is only necessary to use Drysol every third day or so.
This is a great product and well worth the price. It will work on all but the most stubborn sweating cases.

My armpits would sweat excessively even when it is mid winter. It would be very embarassing in formal settings. My entire closet consisted of very dark or very light shirts to try to conceal the inevitable pit stains. I was recommended this product by a friend with a similar problem, and I can't believe how well it works. I have found that after the first few bed-time applications, I only need to apply it roughly once a week to be effective. And thus avoids any light burning that may occur from repeated use. I cannot do justice in a review for just how fabulous this product is. After 20 years of wearing white shirts only to avoid the sweaty pit stains showing, this product was prescribed by my Dr after I casually mentioned how I had struggled with this issue (hyperhydrosis).
It works great. The first few applications it burns like crazy. The key I found (Google magic) is to ensure your arm pits are bone dry (use dryer) prior to application and then dried immediately post application again with the dryer.
I now use the product one a week, use a regular deodorant every day and the days of feeling perspiration dripping down my sides are gone. I am truly amazed that I spent most of my adult life with a problem that was so easily remedied.

I'm still surprised at how well this works. I was sitting at work after using this for two days, and realized that I wasn't sweating like I usually do - all day long! I was shocked! I didn't have to worry about lifting my arms or staining my shirt. It's been such a relief. It's been a godsend, after dealing with hyperhidrosis for 13 years. I don't have to worry about it anymore and I wish I'd been brave enough to go to the doctor and get this stuff a long time ago!
One thing - after using it four days in a row, my underarms began to burn and itch severely after applying it. Cutting back to applying it only two to three times a week has helped, and I swear I will never, ever stop using this stuff. Amazing how something so seemingly insignificant can make such a difference in someone's life. :)
