There are loads of differing opinions and experiences to read from, so declaring these to be the best / worst batteries ever is probably not helpful to you.
What hopefully is helpful, is being able to confirm that as of mid-March 2010, Amazon is selling the rebadged white-top Eneloop batteries that are made in Japan.

If you have a digital camera, WII, remote control, flashlight, or any electronic that uses AA batteries this is the battery for you!! The batteries can easily hold their charge for 5 to 6 months without needed to be recharged before use which is big plus over the old NMHI batteries. They work and last. Not much more to say. These Duracell Rechargeable batteries come pre-charged and ready to go and if you have the 15-minute chargers you're never a long ways away from freshly charged batteries. I honestly don't know why you wouldn't get rechargeable batteries in this day and age, and these are a great buy.Customer Review: This item is bad

When I received my order, I'm glad. It's inexpensive, because "DURACELL" is a good brand in my mind.
When I used it, I was very disappointment. Although it's "Pre Charged", but when I used, It can't take any photo. When I recharge it, it can take photos. But took only about 10 photos, the low battery icon had appeared.

Replaced my old Sony rechargable battery with this Duracell.
It came as fully charged so that I can use it right away.
As specified, battery drain is definitely slower then an old rechargable batteries so that I don't have to recharge often.
