Customer Reviews of Duracell AA 4 Pre-Charged Rechargeable NiMH Batteries DX1500

Customer Review: Great Rechargeable Batteries! Highly Recommended!
Summary: 5 Stars

The Duracell Precharged Rechargeable AA batteries are very convenient since they come fully charged which was a real plus since I went on vacation and forgot to bring my rechargeables, but had remembered to pack my recharger.

I like using rechargeable batteries since they tend to last longer, they save money over the long run, and are better for the environment since you are not throwing them out after one use. These batteries do hold their charge a very long time and perform very well in my electronics (mostly digital cameras).

My only issue is that they do look similar to regular Duracell batteries, so care has to be taken that they are not mixed in or accidently thrown away.

Highly recommended!

Customer Review: A large improvement.
Summary: 5 Stars

A large improvement over the old NIMH. Testing shows that these type of NIMH will lose their charge more slowly. This makes them more useful because they can be used in long term low draw items like the outdoor thermometer, alarm clock, and things that sit between uses like the pocket GPS and the underwater camera without being dead every time you need them. Yes they are similar to Enloop batteries, so what.
Now the cons- Mine did not arrive fully charged. NIMH batteries do not take a full charge for the first 2 or 3 uses. That is normal. These won't develop their full potential until you charge them and use them once or twice.
They are a definite advance. I won't get the old kind any more. Buy Them.

Customer Review: Great battries, Just recieved and appear to be Eneloop's
Summary: 5 Stars

I just wanted to add that i appreciate all of NLee's reviews and information as it is very helpful.

I just purchased and recieved 2 4 packs of AA and 2 packs of AAA Duracell's from Amazon.com here. The ones I recieved i was happy to find are the Japan made version that look just like the Eneloop's.

I still went ahead with my purchase after reading NLee's review that they also have China made versions that are slightly not as good as the Japan made battries. Still for the money they were a great deal.

So I was happy to get these even though I would have prefered Eneloops for the distinct coloration difference compared to normal "Copper Top" Duracell's

Customer Review: Battery Capacity Test
Summary: 4 Stars

My son's school science project this year was to test a set of rechargeable batteries. He conducted two tests on Duracell, Sony, Energizer and Lenmar: 1. Long term storage test where the batteries were fully charged and stored for two weeks before measuring the voltage. 2. Capacity test where randomly selected two batteries were fully charged and put on a regular flashlight until a complete discharge happened. The first test was inconclusive. He repeated the capacity test multiple times and the clear winner was the Energizer NH15BP-4 and the Duracell came in second. BTW, the manufacture's claim on the overall capacity was not even close to the measured capacity.

Customer Review: Battery Info
Summary: 4 Stars

It would be nice if Duracell's pre-charged batteries were labelled as such (i.e., "Pre-Charged", or whatever). Otherwise it might be wise to use Sanyo's. Sanyo's, because of their obvious difference, can avoid a nasty surprise when you go to use something you thought would still be charged, only to find that it isn't - because you mixed "regular" rechargeables and the pre-charged guys in the camera you haven't used for some days. The original white caps were good, but Duracell blew that off.
Also needed is a capacity rating on the Amazon page, so you know what you are buying (especially since Duracell's web page isn't much to write home about).
