I love this charger and cannot understand why Duracell discontinued its production...too many people using their own cheap rechargeable AA batteries instead of buying a whole new bunch of (proprietary) new chargers.
Anyway, if you can't get your hands on one of the good old Duracell Mobile Charger, you can simply boycott the whole thing and build your own one:

I just received this product. I have not used it yet, but the smell on it is so bad that I think it is hazardous to my health. Why has only one reviewer mentioned this? It is nasty and I'm airing it out in a window. I'd rather not touch it for assuming it was made with some highly toxic chemical plastic compound. I wanted a smart charger that could charge less than a full batch of batteries and wouldn't overcharge batteries that were at different charge levels. This one fits the bill, and it's small enough that you can take it with you on trips (if that's important to you).
I use it with Sanyo Eneloop batteries, which I highly recommend.

This is a pretty good battery charger and I also use the USB to charge the iphone/PDA etc.I am no expert on chargers. I had based my decision on all the decent reviews this has got. One more bonus being that this can be used worldwide (both 220 and 110V) You will just need a different plug depending on the country you are in.Customer Review: Great Bang for the Buck

Awesome feature set, at a good price. The only thing that worries me a bit is that it charges some batteries TOO fast (e.g. under an hour for 850mAh AAA), which might shorten their life, or leave them less-than-fully charged. Then again, the AAA-s it does that with are just regular NiMHs (not Low Self-discharge ones).
