Customer Review: Much better than Energizer

These batteries are great. The new 'precharged' technology is great where it can sit unused for a year and still have most of its charge unlike the older rechargeable technologies. These 800 mAh actually last longer in my noise canceling headphones then the 1000 mAh (non-precharged) of the same brand.
I had previously purchased Energizer rechargeable batteries and found that after only a couple of weeks of non-use they would be dead.. so every time you went to use them they would be useless. After getting these Duracells and also some PowerEx batteries, I realize that the Energizer batteries are cheap Chinese junk. oh, the duracells are made in Japan and are very nice quality.
Anyway I definatly would recommend the precharged Duracells to anyone.

Pros:
-For a rechargeable battery, these batteries does not need to be charged before you use it for the first time; right from the packaging into your gadgets.
-They last a long time. I use it on my portable speakers which has been playing in loud volume for many weeks.
-Does not need special charger. You can use your existing NiMh charger.
Cons:
-You can confuse them with regular Duracells and mistakenly thrown away after losing charge.
-This later technology is still expensive. I got them on sale from Safeway for 11$ Normally sold at 14.99$
I also like Eneloops by Sanyo. But they are not easily available at your local stores.

I just bought two 4-packs from Amazon and they both had all white-top Duracells. I just received them yesterday so I can't say much about the performance of these specific batteries, but I've used the Sanyo Eneloops that these are supposed to be similar to for quite a while and have been quite happy with them.
As a side note, for that person who've mentioned that their rechargeables won't hold a charge anymore, have you tried refreshing them? Some chargers, like the LaCrosse BC-700 has a refresh mode that's supposed to restore some life to older rechargeables by doing a repeated cycle of discharge/recharge.

I have had the batteries for over a month now and have used they very heavily in my EarForxe x41 headset which uses the AAA batteries. The AA's work as expected, charging is fast and has protection from overcharging which is great because I often forget I have them plugged into the wall. The charger wasn't hot after leaving the batteries in for over 2 days.
Note, even though the batteries are labeled Pre-charged, they did take a charge when I took them out of the packaging. It was less than a full 8 hour charge so you probably will not get a full battery life if you intend to use them out of the box.

I bought 3 packs of these (each from a different store) for use on Wii remotes. They don't hold a charge any more, and I only used them a few times each. They worked great the first time, then I noticed that each time I recharged them they would lose their charge faster and faster. I even used the discharge function on my charger, but that didn't help. In some cases, they only worked for MINUTES! I've used Sony rechargeable batteries on my Wii controllers before, and they last for HOURS. I would not recommend this product under any circumstance (unless you don't plan on recharging them).
