Customer Review: Good hot eye compress for tired eyes or blepharitis

Great for blepharitis sufferers. I bought one of these years ago for some forgotten ache. I recently came across it, unused, and decided it might work better than a wet washcloth as a warm eye compress (my ophthalmologist told me to use a wet washcloth, which I hate doing because a wet washcloth stays warm for about 20 seconds on average). This compress produces a lot of moist heat and it stays warm for a long time. It will lull you to sleep. One warning: it is white and not washable. I used it without the cover and it quickly became discolored - think oil from your skin getting cooked repeatedly in a microwave. I recommend wrapping it in an old, soft pillowcase (and my lawyer says to tell you not to put the pillowcase in the microwave with the compress unless you like fire). That keeps the compress--and probably your eyes--cleaner. A caveat: when heated, the compress has a smell that some people will find objectionable. To me, it smells kind of like popcorn. My partner says it smells like dirty socks. If it bothers you, just cover it with a towel.
