I purchased this shower stool because I had surgery on my foot and was not able to get into the shower without getting my foot wet. My tub is narrow and many shower stools do not fit. (Prior to this purchase, I had bought a shower stool at a local store and was not happy with it. It did not fit in the tub and the legs bent.)
The construction of this Duro-Med Shower Stool is well made. It is easy to put together, the legs are adjustable, the stool is sturdy and I haven't had any problems with the legs bending. It fits in the tub perfectly.
Can be used in and out of the tub.

This stool is perfect for the good ol' leg in the cast situation. Not only does it allow my husband (who is a very large human being) to safely wash himself without standing on one leg, it is level with the side of the tub so he can easily hang the cast out to prop it on a box next to the tub. The stool's feet don't slip, EVER; and the legs are completely rigid (no bending, or wobbling). I would recommend assembly with a power drill instead of a screwdriver just to make sure that it stays that way, and doesn't loosen over time. Okay let's just talk about the facts. You have a small built in shower and you can't shave your legs and you just need to prop them up! Great! You need to sit down for whatever reason...it's sturdy and holds great! When you don't need it, it is small enough to sit right outside the shower stall and throw your clothes on them, sit and put your shoes on and do your make up. You need it in another room for whatever...light enough to drag around. Best little stool I ever had and will not scare you to death if you need it in the shower for it's true intent!Customer Review: Shower Stool

As others have attested, it goes together easily. My father has been using it for several months now. He was uncomfortable sitting on it at first and continues to be leery now. His balance is not good and if he doesn't sit centered, he will fall off the chair. It also will scoot if one is not careful. We do have slip resistance in the shower so I was surprised to see it can move so easily. It is a good chair for the small shower space but I don't think I would buy it for someone who needs a lot of assistance sitting and standing.Customer Review: Solidly built for Big People.

Purchased this for my elderly parents, both of whom are considerably overweight. The stool is sturdy and solidly built. I easily supports 250 lbs. Neither of my parents felt that they would fall off, and the base gripped firmly to the bathtub floor so I did not have to be concerned with the stool shifting or sliding around while they bathed. It is built to last, easy to adjust, and has brought me some peace of mind. This is the one to buy.
