Customer Reviews of Earth Friendly Products Ecos 2x Liquid Laundry Detergent Free & Clear, 100-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 4)Customer Review: Safe for my baby Summary: 5 Stars
I was concerned with some of the negative things I'd heard about Dreft. So, I came to Amazon and did some research to find a recommended laundry detergent that had no fragrance and was safe for babies. "Ecos Free & Clear" is what I wound up buying, and I have been very happy with it. My son is three months old and we have only used this detergent for all of his clothes and blankets. It gets them clean and does not irritate his sensitive skin (which the detergent his grandmother uses does, so I know his skin would be reacting if the Ecos wasn't as gentle as it advertises to be.) I am very happy with this product and will continue using it for his laundry. Also, a little goes a long way, a bottle lasted us two and a half months!
Customer Review: Great ...but possibly causing diaper rash? Summary: 4 Stars
We are trying to figure out if the detergent is the reason my son is getting diaper rash. He wasn't getting it before but since we started using this product, he has gotten a rash. We switched to disposable diapers for a few days and it got better. Unsure weather the diapers or the detergent is the culpret. Got the free and clear to use on cloth diapers, thinking of trying the baby version instead and see what happens. On top of that... A GREAT GREAT GREAT product. Unlike other detergents, my baby's diapers don't come out smelling like urine and I don't have to wash them twice. I have all of their household cleaning products and am floored at how well they do. The rash is the only reason I rate at a 4 stars.
Customer Review: So far so good Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased this detergent at our grocery store after being bitten by the Earth Day bug a couple of short weeks ago. We have a toddler who wears lots of his food and is otherwise grimy. We decided to put it to the test with his laundry and everything but a pretty severe grass stain came clean!
We have an HE washer but the detergent works for non-HE washers too (you just need to use 2x the amount for non-HE). Considering the number of loads a single jug washes, this is actually very comparable in price to conventional big name brands, i.e. Wisk, All, Tide, etc.
Thus far we've been pleasantly surprised and will continue to use.
Customer Review: Good Value! Summary: 5 Stars
We first bought this from the local Coop to give it a try, for my infant with sensitive skin, and it worked well for her. However, I became tired of separating out all the clothes, so we use it now for all the laundry, and it does as good a job as any detergent (I do continue to pre-treat bad stains before washing just in case...)
It's a GREAT value given that is only uses 1oz in my HE washer... so a hundred ounce bottle= a hundred loads!(I occasionally add a bit more for heavily soiled loads)
We will continue to use this detergent for both its value as well as performance!
Customer Review: I wanted to love this, Summary: 1 Stars
but I don't. I purchased this based on recommendations from cloth diaper websites. Unfortunately, I've since learned this detergent tends to act more like a soap, especially in hard water. It leaves a residue on your clothes. After using our cloth diapers on my daughter for a day and a half, she developed a horrible diaper rash. I also got a rash on my arms, and my husband got one under his arms. It does get clothes clean, even got the cloth diapers looking like new, it is just not right for our family. I sent an email to the company regarding the rash, and received no response.
