Customer Review: Horrifying fish smell!

I'm not quite sure what to make of the fact that we used a couple of bottles of this product with no ill effect, but the most recent bottle has been the most revolting disaster imaginable. All of our clothing, linens, towels, etc., now smells disgustingly like mildewed fish. So does our high-efficiency washing machine, which we are trying to de-stink. My daughter's clothes closet smells so atrocious that we can hardly look inside. We are presently rewashing all of our clothes in Tide to try to render our house liveable. Obviously we will never try this product again.Customer Review: Great for babies

This is a great product for babies or people with sensitive skin. I have three children under the age of 4, with some other detergents they would have a skin reaction. I have found this to not only make our clothes clean but it also does not leave a residue which means things like towels actually come out fluffier than with regular detergents.
I've used it in both front and top loaders and it cleans well in both, if used in a top loader it takes twice as much per load.
I would not hesitate to recommend it for use.

I switched to this detergent to see if it would make a difference with my baby daughter's eczema. It seems to have worked wonders, and I love the clean smell our laundry has now (not a perfumey clean, but it smells like the ocean). My only complaint is that it does not remove all my husband's armpit stains, but the detergent we used before didn't either. The price is more than what I was paying before, but is not a drastic increase in our budget. It is like buying name brands instead of generic. We have a baby and toddler both with eczema and otherwise sensitive skin. I needed a detergent that could clean all our clothes at once as I don't feel like doing kids clothes and parent's clothes separately. After a decision to switch to greener products, I bought this at my local CoOp to give it a trial run. Found it to clean all our clothes as well as any brand of conventional detergent I have used before (i.e. Tide, Kirtland's, and assorted baby detergents). Also, it rinses clean. I've been really pleased with the detergent so far, and it lasts FOREVER. I do all the laundry for our family of four, and the pack of four lasted us for over a year. I just ordered our second 4-pack and may not have to order again until early 2011. We do about 8 loads per week in a front loader, and it has cleaned well for us. Our two kids aren't little anymore, so we don't have the same dirt and food (and other) stains that we used to have, so I can't comment on how this does with really dirty laundry.
