Customer Reviews of Earth Friendly Products Ecos 2x Liquid Laundry Detergent, Magnolia & Lily, 100-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 4)Customer Review: Awful Smell I Couldn't Get Over Summary: 1 Stars
i too wanted to like this product. It was a reasonale price at Costco. We have a front load, HE machine. Soon after starting to use it, I noticed a musty/moldy smell on all my freshly-laundered clothing. I thought perhpas it was a case of the laundry being left in the washer for too long. I continued to use this product and the smell would not go away. It was so bad, I would have to change my top. My teenage girls noticed the odor on their clothes also. While I didn't believe it was a problem with the detergent, we weren't doing anything different with the laundry, so I decided to buy some Tide and use that for a while. Guess what, the odor on the clothing went away. I now have a 2/3's full bottle of this stuff and I will be donating it. I've never experienced this problem with a laundry detergent before and there is nothing that would make me purchase this stuff again. The only good thing I can say, is that it seemed to clean the clothing fairly well and I was happy that it was earth-friendly. Not worth the permeating moldy smell though.
Customer Review: The BEST natural laundry soap on the market... Summary: 5 Stars
I've tried them all: 7th Gen, Mrs. Meyers, you name it I've tried it and this is THE BEST ONE!!! I do NOT have ANY of the issues I had with any of the other brands mentioned, like static, MAJOR fading, crunchy clothes, wrinkles galore, but NO MORE!!! A little bit of this stuff goes a long way (which takes some getting used to at first!) so we can make this big jug last 2-3 months, and we do a lot of laundry. I have not had any issues some of the bad reviews mentioned like a mildewy smell or weird consistency and I'm on my 3rd jug now. I kept my old Mrs. Meyers bottle and decant it into there so I don't have to pour form this HUGE jug every load. And the most important part- it smells FANTASTIC!!! I don't know if I'd call the smell "Magnolia" or "Lily" per se, does NOT smell floral to me at all, but it DOES smell like clean laundry should, if that makes sense... a crisp clean linen type smell. A lot of "natural" products smell a little too... Earthy. Not this one! With GREAT products like this, who needs chemical-laden cleaners anyway?!?!
Customer Review: Ecos - Magnolia & Lily Summary: 5 Stars
I found this product at Costco originally; tried it, loved it, and went back to purchase it again and could not find it. Costco said they were never going to stock it again. Well I was hooked on it and bound and determined to find it elsewhere! I visited a few healthy living/green stores in our and found smaller bottles of the product. The price however was twice what we paid at Costco. I searched on line and found it through Amazon, and what a deal!! I am not writing an add for Amazon, but can tell you when I need more, Amazon is where I will buy it. I love the product! Towels especially smell so good; they used to have a little "odor" to them, like leaving a kitchen dish cloth around too long. And now they smell so fresh and clean. I have also noticed that my Whirlpool front loader also smells better too. When using Tide the washer always smelled a little like mildew, even with monthly cleaning... I'm hooked!

Customer Review: The Best Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using "green" or "eco friendly" products for the past 13 years.
I've tried many laundry detergents and this is my overall favorite. Once
I found it I've not switched. The stores I shop at quit carrying the
Magnolia & Lilly variety so I ordered a case from Amazon. Amazon gave me
a better price than I'd been paying too. The only draw back I would say this product has is it's stain removing-it works pretty good but there is another earth friendly product I use to treat bad stains (Biokleen and/or Zainz). But hey---most everybody I know uses a stain remover in addition to their detergent at times. It's still the best detergent; my clothes smell wonderful; I like the built in fabric softener and my clothes are clean. I have a front loading washer and I only have to use about two tablespoons of detergent for my largest loads!
Customer Review: Moldy laundry AND stinky washer Summary: 2 Stars
I bought two of these bottles at Costco because of a coupon. I have also used Mrs. Meyer's laundry and found that it faded my darks. At first I liked this detergent because the smell is pleasant and not strong. It also does not irritate my son's sensitive/eczema-prone skin. Does it clean well? Well enough. HOWEVER, after using this for a couple of months, I, like another reviewer, noticed that if I forgot to switch the washed load into the dryer and it sat overnight, the laundry was sour and moldy smelling, requiring another wash. ALSO, I just noticed within the last month that my washer STINKS on the inside like mold and mildew. I have tried everything - bleach, white vinegar - and after researching on the internet have found and concluded that the odor is due to this detergent. I will be returning the second bottle and switching to another brand.
