Customer Review: nothing fancy, does its job

I was looking for a bookstand to help my posture while I'm reading, especially reading textbooks or other heavy books. I settled on this Easy Reader Book Stand as not too cheap nor too expensive. The picture makes it look like it's made of wood, but it is actually a beige-colored plastic. Still, it is a more appealing color than the bright orange=red one. It comes folded up and can be used as a legal-sized clipboard. It can adjust to several angles and has a bottom lip to hold a book. It is study enough to hold heavy textbooks. It has an elastic band to hold a book open, but all the books I've used stay open without need of this which is good because it makes it easy to turn the page. I like that better than some other stands which clamp the book open so to turn a page you have to release the clamp and then refasten it. A book stand really does make it easier to read, and this one is certainly better-designed than the cheaper ones. More expensive ones only are better cosmetically.Customer Review: My neck's new best friend

I am very satisfied with this product. Although it seems kind of cheap and plasticy, it has held up for me quite well so far. I am in nursing school and have a lot of huge (1000+ page hardback) textbooks that I've been reading, and this has handled them very well. I have a bad neck and it's great to be able to look straight ahead instead of straight down when I'm reading these books for hours at a time. And it comes with a little clipboard thing, too. I think it's a little expensive considering the materials used, but I would buy it again because it is durable and I can't think of any improvements that could be made. This thing's awesome. I've had one since college (1990's) and just recently bought one for my wife. Now that we're in dental school, it's great to have a big sturdy stand to read upright. Since I bought mine so long ago, I wasn't sure if they'd be selling this anymore & to my pleasant surprise, they're still available - and exactly the same at that.
One minor drawback is it is a little bit large & heavy. Bigger than a sheet of paper, it won't fit in tidy little laptop type bags; but fine for a backpack. Then again, it's partly the large size that I like about it.

IT EXACTLY AS YOU SAID, THIS IS ONE OF MY BEST PURCHASES. THIS PRODUCT IS VERY GOOD, AND IT PRACTICALLY ERASES THE TENSION WHICH IS A RESULT OF HOLDING A BOOK WHILE READING. I DON'T HAVE TO PRESS HARD ON THE BOOK EDGES ANYMORE IN ORDER TO KEEP IT AT A GOOD DISTANCE FROM MY EYES, ESPECIALLY IF THE BOOK IS HEAVY OR BULKY. NOR THE PAGES REBEL ANYMORE, BECAUSE THEY ARE HELD IN PLACE BY THE ELASTIC BAND THAT COMES ATTACHED. THANK YOU!

Great product, high quality. I absolutely love it. It doubles as a clipboard as well. I am a graduate student, so I use it as a bookstand to study, and as a clipboard when I'm taking notes in class. It holds even my largest textbooks, so I am impressed! It helps to reduce stress on my cervical muscles while I'm studying because it holds the books at the perfect angle. The only shortcoming is the elastic band, which can only be used on smaller books because it does not stretch very much, but I don't use it anyways.
