I was diagnosed w/ Crohn's Disease in 2006 and was hospitalized w/ a boil in my small intestine for 7 days. Luckily, they didn't operate. That was a big scare and wake-up call. I think my symptoms started after I had mercury fillings replaced a year or two earlier. I think some of the mercury from the fillings was swallowed and wreaked havoc in my system. (I didn't go to a biological dentist).
I looked for many different ways to improve my health via diet and supplements after that hospital visit, etc. I've been taking Garden Of Life Ultra Primal Defense Probiotics for many years. They have many good strains. I think about 12 total. I thought they were the best I could find and they did help, along with fish oil and turmeric, even colloidal silver, vitamin D and sunshine helps too. I also avoided processed foods and sugar, white flour, etc.
I had things mostly under control, but still wasn't feeling as good and regular as I should have. Still had occasional pain, IBS symptoms, gas, bloating, running to the bathroom when my stomach got nervous if I was in an uncomfortable situation, frequent bathroom visits, etc.
After taking these Pearls for a few weeks now, the difference is incredible. I feel so much better. Perhaps exercising more has something to do w/ it as well, but I noticed a huge difference with these Pearls just in the last 2 or 3 weeks. I noticed it almost immediately. These Pearls really work great, much better than anything I've tried. I'm guessing the thicker coating and delivery deeper in the digestive tract is part of what does the trick.
I'm really starting to feel like my life is going back to normal when I felt young and healthy again 10 years ago. Again, I'm sure the exercise has soemthing to do with it, but it's definitely not everything.
Definitely try these Pearls for a month. I'm amazed that something so inexpensive has made such a huge difference, when doctors want to keep you on drugs the rest of your life for Crohn's and operate.

Bottom Line:
After a week I noticed regularity, a slimmer waistline, better health, and faster digestion. And yes, after 2 weeks my yeast infection did die down. Do note how "too much of a good thing" definitely applies here and only take one a day.

Per everyone else's review it seems that this was the miracle panacea to cure everyone's ills. So I went ahead and took it and I have to say, after a week I really do feel better. For the sake of curiosity I did go ahead and try skipping a day and later on trying 2 pills a day during Thanksgiving Both were bad ideas, though the former less so since it is just reverting back to where you were before taking this pill. I have to give props to Enzymatic Therapy for getting such an accurate dosage regardless of the variance in your eating habits.
So yes, I would say that this is better than taking vitamins, fish oil, etc. etc. because the effect it has on your overall health is quite noticeable. You think that your digestive system is A-OK, but after you realize what it's like not to be bloated, cramped, or (more graphically) on the loo for hours, you realize it's far from balanced.
Last but not least do monitor the prices on Amazon. They're definitely a good deal as is but they do have a small variance in dollar amount. I consider this a very good product and if you're in constant digestive pain, a must have.

Before I found this product or even heard of probiotics I suffered from some kind of weird condition where I get flu like symptoms after working out. At first I didn't notice the connection between getting sick and working out because I thought it was completely healthy to work out. I would get into a nice routine of working out every other day. Some days I would do a lot of cardio and other days I would lift weights more. It seemed like when I worked out hard I would get really sick the next day. It wasn't overtraining, because I've felt that before.
I know my body's limits. This was something different. For some reason it only started happening to me last year towards the start of 2010. I tried everything to get it to stop. One day I was looking online for hours and I came across a forum where hundreds of people had the same problem. They would develop flu like symptoms after working out. And it would last for weeks at a time, wrecking the whole exercise schedule. A bunch of people suggested taking probiotics to help the problem. So I thought why not?
I went on Amazon and saw Enzymatic Therapy Acidophilus Pearls. I saw so many positive reviews. Upon further research I saw that it also helped people with digestion issues and bowel related issues. For years I've suffered from stomach aches, ibs and diarrhea. Optimistically I ordered a box and split them with my dad since he has lots of the same issues. It's been about a month and a lot of the issues I have feel like they're almost gone. Same with my dad. We both feel more energetic and healthier. I've been working out on a daily basis and haven't gotten sick. I'd recommend this to anyone! I'm gonna order 2 more boxes in a couple days. Looks like you got a life long customer. =)

I've been taking 'pearls' for the last year or so, to help my digestive system be more supported while I am on some other long-term medications. While my eating habits are generally healthy, and I love yogurt to boot, I find that the addition of good flora is an easy way to give my body optimal conditions to make use of the food I put into it.
These pearls are tiny and VERY easy to swallow--even children who may otherwise have difficulty taking pills can take these, IMO (though I'd ask a doctor about any particular child's maturation regarding swallowing any pills--kids who are too young may aspirate on any pill, no matter how small). Given the number of pills I have to take daily, I am doubly happy to not have to take yet another horse-pill, and the little cute 'buttons' (as my god-daughter called them) are wonderfully small.
The probiotics do the job and I've less disestive symptoms (side-effects of medications, mostly, but no less annoying).
The price on Amazon is really what blew me away--in a good way! One packat of 30 pearls (one month's supply) in the drug-store was twice as much as this packet of 90 pearls (three months supply!). So in effect I am getting SIX TIMES the pearls I would've gotten otherwise. A HUGE savings.
Highly recommended for quality and price.

I have Crohn's disease and have tried 2 probiotics before the pearls. I haven't seen improvements from either. With the first it was a placebo effect and the other one made things even worse. I am really happy I ran into these pearls. I saw the reviews and everyone was praising them. I read almost all of the 70 reviews here because I wanted to know every single thing about them. After reading all of the reviews I figured 70 people can't be lying. These pearls started working after 4-5 days. They don't cure Crohn's but they sure help. I am regular now and go to the toilet once a day every morning. I tolerate high fiber foods and milk products a lot better now. The only problem that's left now is greasy, fat food, but when I look into the past, what kind of problems I had, diarrhea, cramps, gas, bloating, running home because of diarrhea, missing out on life, I am grateful that this stuff was invented and hope this company will be here for at least another 100 years.
Another positive side effect is that I have more energy and less anxiety now. Probiotics have been proven to increase bioavailability of certain nutrients so I think that helped increase my energy and mood.
I will be buying these for life unless something better comes up.
